Hyperpop Jam | Neon Ghost | JU-06A and SP404mk2

Howdy, back again with another JU-06A and SP404mk2 collab. These lil plastic boxes definitely inspire me more than anything else I've got, but I'm keen push through and mix and match gear in the future.
I used a bunch of Splice samples along with some sampled/resampled synth lines from the Juno. It's insane what a few effects from the SP404 can do to a simple synth line! I definitely found the biggest challenge with this one was transitioning into the different patterns with such different sounds. I think that's where the SP404 effects come in handy.

So true. I produce many hip hip tracks and even I get tired of hearing people use certain tools just to remake oversaturated genre music.

I can definitely see your point, but the reason you don't see this often is that normally you don't want to use a sampler to produce hyperpop, it is a genre for which you really want to be using a DAW lol Don't get me wrong, what he did was very cool, but definitely not an easy route and there probably was a DAW involved somewhere in a sample recording process

@@klenikovnikl Yeah I agree, it's not the ideal device for this at all. I got one myself but quickly realized that its workflow isn't optimized for the kind of music I'm making so after making one song with it, I ended up selling it again.

Fr. Hip-hop is the most popular genre it seems still, and it's mostly victim card loving, a love of self-degrading with the n-word (slang) that mostly Blacks use these days (out of either), heavy drug loving, heavy violence promotion, heavy female degrading, etc. I barely hear it these days. Thankfully, some Black areas ban plenty of hip-hop on their radios. I've written about it before on Medium. Shalom.

Damn this is a whole composition. This is what I'm talkin about! I'm getting acquainted with my MK2 and I feel like the compositional potential is huge. Coming up with sequencable and usable variations is highly attainable so far. Great song!

You've made my day haha. Thank you for the kind words ☺Definitely depends what you're after, the SP + JU06 is the cheaper combo, you're obviously limited more but sometimes limitations are good! It's also super fun to just have the JU06's sequencer running alongside the Sp404's sequencer, so I'd lean towards that :)

Yeah absolutely recommend this combo! Depending on what kinda sound you're going for maybe even look at the newer Roland Boutiques, there's a few there based of 90's synths if that's more your sound.

Nah for this one, the SP is just sending out clock, and I’m using the arpeggio+hold on the Juno to do little arps here and there :) oh plus that intro lead line
