Well done, it's impressive. I am fascinated by the techniques in hyper-realistic paintings as in Tjalf Sparnaay. Like in this glass bowl that contains colorful candies wrapped in a transparent and twisted cellophane wrapper that lets glimpse pearl candies through complex optical paths that light takes. Or those impressive pencil portraits of Dirk Dzimirsky with water flowing over a face.

I loved watching you paint! You are inspirational! Thank you! I didn't know you can do your own frame, I guess it cuts out cost.. It looked like you painted on wood, or if it was a canvas I didn't notice.

Thanks! The cradle frame was made of pine, and the board was masonite.

Hi my name is Rome, I am a veteran and I would like to learn hyperrealism. I live in NY and I want to know if someone can give me any ideas where to find the right school to learn the techniques and methods. I love painting and I will appreciate any help
@KennethPettay3 жыл бұрын
I don't know of any schools. I learned some tips from books, or asking other top hyperrealists. But mostly everything i picked up was from watching other artists time lapse videos. You should start by using the highest definition pictures you can take.

Then you go to an abstract gallery where a painting took an hour t paint that sells for 10 times more than yours. Self expression however, is a commodity, over meticulously copying a photo. Still not bad if not a little overexposed.

impossible to paint hyperrealism using acrylic painting. oil paint is much easier.
@KennethPettay3 жыл бұрын
Yeah oil paint is easier to blend and no color shift. Acrylic paint is better, will never yellow and more challenging to work with, but it is possible to blend it the same as oil
