​@@WhatsUpSonny keyword there is "watch". when you actually do as opposed to just watch, at a certain point one of the few things that will actually move you is true style and knowing your history. anybody can learn everything from youtube now which makes true knowledge and self-expression some of the few real differentiators. allef is not an internet creature there is a simple brilliance and assuredness to many of allef's rounds that will be lost on observers who have been miseducated about the dance by yt. if you don't know the history of where breaking has come from it wouldn't occur to you that allef is doing 70s moves and james brown steps (2:48) on a 70s funk sample. this is why nobunaga is cheering and the judges are smiling. this is not beatkilling, it is proof that he has listened and studied. timo and zoopreme are similar in this. why allef gets so many decisions his way that dont make sense to a lot of people is because allef's dance exposes a) a lot of his competitors don't really understand what it is they're doing and b) can't actually dance. it helps that he's not really trying to "win" in a straightforward sense. he's just dancing. the only other rounds here that can convincingly be said to be freestyles are zoopreme's, narumi's, and kae's. it's polarizing because that's what style is; it's for the self, not for internet audiences who dont know you or why you dance. if you view bboying as just a sport or as a way to view people doing visually impressive shit it'll be lost on you. might be worth trying it for yourself
