Nightwish know how to start concert and take audience with first song. In this case sold out (12500 people) Wembley Arena. BTW, every year in Wembely Arena they have a poll, who was best in this or that, different categories. This 2015 Nightwish was second best performer / show... we wished and tried to get them number one. But number one was Queen (with Adam Lambert). They win and Nightwish was second... It looks so easy to Floor, singing... But there is lot of practice (and experience) behind. Now when this new album comes out, there is one song, where even Floor had difficulties! This way she describes the process: "I had to practice, for sure. REALLY practice. And I really do like the result. It was a challenge. It was so complex that it’s not like “I’ve listened to it and yeah, I’ve got it” and then go from there. I really had to study it. I have to study the melody, I have to study where the words come in, and by the time when we got to the point when the first demos came in and we rehearsed together, I could sing it. As in it sounds okay. But I knew what the lyrics were about but I had no chance to put in the emotion yet. Now I could recite it, basically. When the drum recordings started and I was back home I went through everything for few weeks more. It was daily rehearsals of combining what I knew and felt the song was about to reciting the technical element of the singing of the words and the melodies to get them into singing and storytelling and feeling and transmitting the feeling, emotion and the story - if that makes sense. That was definitely THE challenge. Not that I didn’t understand what I was singing, but to combine everything into something that made it sound 1) easy and 2) comfortable and 3) with the right feeling behind it."

I believe the official figure was 82.000, but have also read the number 92.000 as max in sold out. And they normally fill it up both Wembley, Manchester and other stadiums in the UK. This opening is how you get 90.000 people from zero to lightspeed in seconds - awesome 🤘🤘

Totally miss Jukka and that style, the way he plays. Just so cool to see. But Kai is absolutely an amazing drummer. Filled that spot brilliantly. Nightwish has a history of finding incredibly talented people.

I agree on that completely. I think it would have been hard to fine a better man to sit behind the drums than Kai. If you need the drums to be played fast, that's not a problem, just check what he did while in Rotten Sound (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoTZlZWFhKuhh6s). What? You want to go slow? Yeah, he's got it, as this example from Swallow the Sun shows (kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWe6ZoaZhKqpaMU). Mixt that all and add some more technicality? Piece of cake, that's what Wintersun was all about (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoawqH-ue7N-iZI). So when making their latest album, "Human. :II: Nature.", Kai has been told to say that Tuomas had encouraged him to shed Jukka’s shadow and go apeshit with his drumming. Add that to the mix when Floor already has mentioned that she really, REALLY had to practice for the songs to get them thet way they are supposed to sound. So it sounds like the band and the music have been really stretched to the limits, can't wait to hear the end result!

One thing we have to understand about Nightwish : they have a LOT of backing tracks (orchestra, choir, sound effects) and click tracks synchronized with visual effects. I love Jukka, for his stage presence, but we have to admit one thing : Kai is a beast of precision. Not as spectacular, but extremely effective. In fact, we tend to forget that the whole show rests on the drummer's shoulders. He receives and gives all the cues. Everything goes through him. Personally, as a drummer, I hated to play with click/cue tracks. Even for just one song. He plays WHOLE concerts with them. I would be mad.

This whole concert is on KZbin - it's an absolute blinder. They CRUSHED IT. Good luck finding tickets for December. I tried (and failed) several times. Earlier I saw an interview on Kaaos TV channel with Tuomas and Kai about the new album - worth a look. I think we're in for a really heavy, orchestra-free first disc. The second is all orchestra.

Now that is how you open a show. That is as close as I will get to being in a Lamborghini going full throttle on the open highway!!! Just think this was only the opening song that went on at this pace for the entire set list/show!!!! Great reaction and we have to get you guys tickets to catch them at least once. Now that YT has given them more exposure and Floor blew away YT with her performances on Beste Zangers tickets will be harder to come by but I am hoping it also means larger venues especially here in the US so there will be more tickets available (still doesn't mean they will last very long however). Like Wacken this concert has some epic performances especially those with Troy and his bag of Folk Metal instruments!!!

Love this song 🤘 and... yes, the comparisons between tarja and Floor are hateful but it is nothing compared on how was in the Anette era. Tarja fans made her life impossible It was horrible everything Anette had to endure. Even the most hardcore fans of tarja today accept how good Floor is. Today most Nightwish fans prefer Floor over tarja and that it would be something impossible to image some years ago . The problem is that there are still those few widowers of Tarja who are hurting to see that the current formation is better than ever. Nightwish's popularity has grown tremendously in the recent years. 👍
