Wacken 2013 songs were written for the previous female singers. This song was written by Tuomas specifically for Floors voice.

Floor said Tuomas challenged her lower range on this album Endless Forms Most Beautiful. Shudder Before the Beautiful is one of those songs. I like her lower register vocals a lot.

I'm constantly impressed by how he'll raise his hands high and bring them down hard while still hitting the correct notes...sometimes while windmilling.

Talking about not enough hands: most bands maybe use 8-25 tracks in their music, some bands perhaps use 50-100 tracks for a more complex song... Tuomas used over 600 tracks for recording 'The Greatest Show on Earth'.

The show opener for this tour, gets things rollin! Floor kills it, as always. The keyboard player is Tuomas, the genius and mastermind behind Nightwish. He composes and arranges all the music. He writes all the lyrics as well. He conducts the orchestra and choir when recording the backing tracks, which he controls playback during the performance. I second the recommendation for The Greatest Show on Earth. Most recommend the Tampere version, but Wembley has it’s strengths too. Can’t go wrong with either. (And yes, SueSue does look beautiful.) We can ALL use a prayer. Keep exploring Nightwish!

Wembly concert is awesome. Tuomas, on the keyboard is the Maestro, he writes and arranges all the Nightwish compositions. Tuomas is known as the metal Mozart. Tuomas is very humble. He thinks of himself more as a composer and poet. the orchestrated backing tracks are synced up with a click track which is in the drummers inears. He is the one who keeps everybody in sync with the backing tracks. Thanks to both of you! 🙏

The spoken part at the beginning is voiced by evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins. You will hear him again on Weak Fantasy and the Greatest Show On Earth. From The Endless Forms Most Beautiful album, the first recorded with Floor, and Kai on drums. The 'Beautiful' in the song is the Universe and the natural world. The entire album is themed on science and reason ,and the evolutionary theories of Darwin and Dawkins. Yours Is an Empty Hope is a good one to do next, and was the 2nd song at this show.

This is a Floor song. Floor so brilliantly took over the songs written for Tarja (mainly ‘operatic’), for Anette (more pop orientated). By this concert she had her own songs, written by Toumas with her in mind. With Floor Tuomas can write anything knowing he has a singer who can always ‘nail it’. You say Tuomas should do more solo. As the composer and and founder, if he wanted that he would. It is my belief that Tuomas is a modest man who just wants his band to create brilliant music and give pleasure to its listeners. If he had any ‘ego trip aspirations’ to be the spotlighted star, he’s kept them well hidden for 25 years now. Thanks for your reaction and comments.

This is a great opener and the whole concert is great, every song. Tuomas is the Maestro of the band every song and composition starts in the brilliant mind. He is constantly adding things on the fly as well during their songs, mostly planned I am sure, but they all know Tuomas is essentially Nightwish. They have creative choices with vocals, riffs and things of that nature and Tuomas encourages them all, and if it improves the sound or improves the song he will say add it. That is how Floor ended up changing the ending of Ghost Love Score to what it is today. Have you heard two songs the same yet? No and you won't, every song a new story. Sometimes Tuomas will add a little riff from Van Halen or Metallica, maybe flashes on the keyboards of the movie Psycho, some Bach or Beethoven, just to make the mind, hmmm, that sounds familiar. It is brilliance, and this band is all about the song, what makes it better is what is important, not let me show off what I can do.

Love this concert - My Walden , Yours is an Empty Hope, While Your Lips Are Still Red, Alpenglow 7 Days to the Wolves, The Poet and the Pendulum and The Greatest Show on Earth are all in this concert. I love this As a starter - not only the energy but right off the bat we have Floor's gorgeous velvety lower register. Floorgasm stuff. Note that Marco said this was his biggest concert although they did Waken 2 years earlier with7 times the audience size - that says something of what UK fans and Wembley Arena means to the band.

i really love the big smile of "the Wolfman" in the beginning, as fellow Keyboardist i can tell you thats the "Power" of the Korg N364 the big Strings Patch really sounds great when played choppy and that gives you that Movie Score vibe instantly, Tuomas once stated in an interview that the N364 has the best choppy strings of all times, and i totally agree The other thing if celebrate is that you appreciate Tuonas Keys solo, wich is actually a real "Duel" as Tuomas plays the riffs first and then Emppu reaplays the Notes and adds tho it and then Tuomas does the notes emppu played...ah well i guess you know the drill^^, and in the end of it the play in unison when ever we Play Shudder befor the beautiful with ourer Coverband our Guitarist and i are really ancious to play that Part :) PS: for the syconization of the samples (by the London Synphonic Orchestra) and the Patches they use Protools 5 kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJXLhJ6cl62LgMU

Kai Thank you for sharing that! I am not familiar with that particular Korg but have owned many over the years including one I just sold that I was using live. It was the Kronos 73 and I loved it but it was too heavy to haul around since I’m getting so old :-) I am not currently using pro tools I’m using another DAW called mix craft nine pro studio. It suits my knees really well but I am looking at possibly adding ProTools to my collection as I want to do more studio work instead of trying to play live. Thank you so much for the response I love chatting with other musicians especially keyboard players!

@@susanhoffman4835 my pleasure, especially in metal we keyboard players have to stick together^^ the Kronos is actually the lower keyboard Tuomas plays, and is the one he does the solos on. the N364 is the upper one and Tuomas almost exclusivly uses it for the string patch and percussiv work as in the beginning of weak fantasy

Nice Voice Training in Front, dont get me wrong, but Susue got the much better Rasp then George Wolfmen Lucas after the Training:D "I always prefer the Big Fell Guys*....and you start the Vid. There would have been Alternatives, you know , dont you? Watched this 10 secs 5 Times, but couldnt make up an Edit Cut- hope you didnt get Trouble after the Gig:). ok i hope you do:D I personally like the Concert Recordings of NW, its always NW, but there are really Differences in Tone and Soundstage, always something New, but nether the less Great. Didnt see or hear any Opener live or on Disk by Nightwish since 2001, that didnt push you right out of the Boots and hyped you for the 2 hrs to come. Just Imagine, you are in the Turf, middle rows anywhere. The Guy to the Right of you forgot to shower- the last Week. the one left in Front is 2 Heads higher then you, always playing with the String Tanga of his Lady, which stands in Front of you, and right besides Her there are this two German Guys, Blubbering and Laughing non stop, waving their Beercups for free Showers to their nearest Bystanders. You really think of Escape to the Beerstand, and then...it begins, BANG and you all are just going into it as one:) thats how i felt it:) OH you liked it, great:P Stay Healthy NWA Bavaria North out.
