this is the best english interview i've seen of them. they all got a chance to speak and they all sound great! minzy's english has been improving exponentially. she pretty much tweets only in english now, and it's almost completely fluent!

I LOVE THIS INTERVIEW!!! CL sounds different speaking English compare to her Korean. And Bommie grew up in the States so she actually can speak English but we barely hear her speak that much...ever! Already know Dara is used to English mixed Tagalog but I just want her to speak more :) Minzy improved so much! Her pronunciation!

I was blown away by how good their english has gotten... I mean, I know CL is pretty good already, but hearing all of them, and with almost American accents - I am so proud to be their fan!! And it's clear they've spent a lot of time with Teddy and Lydia - which is awesome! It gives them such a bigger chance to go global and tour other continents!

It comes as a surprise to me how CL can keep in touch with American celebrities with that"like, you know" repeated everytime. I thought the way she communicated would be better than this but it wasn't. Btw, Minzy just keeps that basic communicating sentence, which makes me feel bored with her. In contrast, Dara and Bom did a great job this time. I especially like Dara's NOLZA at the end.

Tran Hanh I would think that speaking to someone in a conversational setting is a lot more casual than an interview, so CL doesn't have to stall as much to think about what she's going to say and making sure it come out professional.

Tran Hanh What are you on about Americans are the ones who use "you know" and "like" all the time. Hell watch and interview with Michelle Obama and pay attention how many times she says "you know". CL is not a native speaker as someone who's not a native speaker myself but studies English, I know it's only natural for non-native speakers to use common phrases like that to convey what they're trying to say easier. Dara and Bom barely speak in complex, compound or compund-complex sentences so they don't need to rely on phrases like that to speak. CL speaks fluent english with barely any accent and is grammatically correct 99% of the time, while Bom and Dara aren't.

People who are complaining about CL's way of speaking...like, I don't get it. Yeah she speaks slow but English isn't her native language so what you expect? As for her actual word use, I see no problem. Like she could be any girl at my school really. She doesn't use incorrect words or anything and saying "like, you know" is very common when you're put on the spot. Relax, her English is just fine.

people whole time complain about CL english. First: CL talks too much. Why other girls not talk more? Second: Cl should try harder to talk better. Are u people stupid? english isn't CL first language! She know perfectly english, french, japanese and korean! It's normal that she sometimes is confused with what she must say and thats why she use "u know" or smth different. I use this too in my native language cuz it's habbit. And why CL only speak? Maybe because other girls are always quiet ? Dara seems uncomfortable about her english, Minzy don't know english really well. And Bom i think she just in her own world so she don't care :D U should be gladly that we understand what girls talk and we don't need subs. Lot's of fandom don't have this luck cuz their idols can't speak other languages.

+while Dara is uncomfortable speaking the English language, I can bet she writes it more comfortably than all of four of them. In their social media, she uses it more than CL for example. This is because she studied English in school - as a language - and as the medium of instruction for most school subjects, everyday, while she was in the Philippines (12 years). Dara probably has a wider vocabulary too even if it doesn't show much in their interviews.
