Dr. Pagnani of Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates discusses hypnagogic (while falling into sleep) and hypnopompic (while coming out of sleep) hallucinations. These phenomenon are normal and will occur at least once, for most individuals. With that being said, they can be rather distressing, and psycho-education about them, can be very important to prevent anxiety related to sleep, which can result in insomnia (or worsening of insomnia). With all of that being said, hypnagogic and hypnopompic hallucinations do tend to occur more often in individuals with narcolepsy, insomnia, and some mental health conditions, so if someone is experiencing these conditions, it may be prudent to speak with a mental health professional. However, they are NOT to be treated with antipsychotic or neuroleptic medications, as they are not true hallucinations.
Dr. Pagnani is the founder and medical director of Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates, an Instructor at The Johns Hopkins Hospital for the Department of Psychiatry, he supervises psychiatric residents at Jefferson Hospital, he serves on the Young Professional Board of Uplift, the Center for Grieving Children and he maintains a private practice of Psychiatry in Philadelphia where he sees patients for one-time psychiatric evaluations and second opinions. He is a licensed physician and surgeon in NJ, PA, NY, MD, DE, FL and CA and can provide consultations to individuals via HIPAA compliant Telehealth visits living in these locations.
Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates is a private practice of psychiatry consisting of about 25 psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners and psychotherapists with physical locations in Philadelphia and Paoli, PA and serving all of PA, NJ, NY and FL virtually via HIPAA compliant tele-psychiatry. Individuals seeking not only evaluations but long-term psychiatric care, can contact Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates directly.
These videos aim to increase awareness and discussion of mental health topics and to encourage struggling individuals to schedule an appointment directly with a mental health provider. Mental health needs to be normalized, and simply speaking about mental health topics openly, is an important first step.
Dr. Pagnani and Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates are NOT advocating for or against the use of any mentioned psychiatric medications for any specific individual. Additionally, any side effects mentioned are not a complete list of potential side effects or contraindications to taking any mentioned medications, and all risks and benefits of a medication should be discussed with an individual’s provider at an appointment, before starting, stopping or making changes to a medication regimen.

I've read that most people can very easily tell the difference between reality and their hypnopompic hallucinations, I unfortunately cannot, and have hallucinated entire conversations with my significant other only to be interrupted by his voice asking me what I'm talking about during the middle of a response. Utterly indistinguishable and very frightening

Yeah I just had a similar thing 10mins ago and it was the first time I have ever experienced this. When I "woke up" I could hear people running around, people laughing and really heavy breathing. My vision was more like looking at a TV screen and individual things like posters on my wall were spinning and the weirdest part was I could think normally like I was totally awake and I was thinking like holy shit I have to get to a hospital or something and then when I snapped out of it everything was completely normal and I was like hooly shit that was epic and went and did a bit of research, hence here I am. 🤣 got a slight headache now which I think is reasonable given how crazy that felt.

but they say hypnopompic(waking up) hallucinations can be forgotten easily, but why do I always recall that feeling. The sensation where my body is lying down and I think my spirit is coming out, I'm sure that I was the one who is getting up but my body is not reacting. I waved my hand to tell myself that I'm awake, but I can't feel my hand waving in the air. It happened to me 3 times before I wake up ,so I asked my sister if I get up to the bed and talk to her but she said,I was sleeping the whole time. I observed that whenever it happens I am always lying down facing the ceiling, so I switch position but it also feels the same with the tingling sound in my back and my ear.So I forced to wake myself up(just a couple of hours ago). It always happened everytime I sleep in the afternoon.

I have chronic hypnagogic hallucinations (I’m fully healthy otherwise) and also thought at first, that I have a serious mental illness. I have these states 5x a week and it takes a lot of ,,training and facing it“ to be alright with it. What happens ranges from carnival of horror, visitations, voices, ,,visions“ of people dying, hundreds of pictures playing through you, seeing places in crystal clear detail, leaving your body and absolute bliss. Often I have the feeling my heart explodes. The short term memory is also highly impacted, making logical thinking and reasoning next to impossible. I have accepted them and enjoy them now, especially if they don’t fall on an important night. If you experience them I can help you: ,,DONT FIGHT THEM, DONT RUN AWAY, Let them wash over you!“. If you choose to do the opposite, they will just come back stronger and more often. Maybe u can find some reason in them and if you are able to take charge, you can even shape them yourself.

I've only have had 3 hypnopompic hallucinations and started 7 years ago. 1st - Awoke during morning hours with the Grim Reaper standing next to me. I screamed briefly in fear. It disappeared as it morphed into the blackout curtains that it was standing infront of. 2. - Awoke during morning hours to a figure completely shrouded in white at the end of the bed. It startled me. Even asked myself in that moment why is this happening because the 1st one was only a month earlier. I reached out and once my hand went through it it faded away. 3rd - Most recently, during midnight hours I awoke to what appeared to be a black panther sitting at the corner of the bed. I ignored it, rolled over, back to sleep. A bit unnerving to say the least.

I have hypnopompic hallucinations when I wake up sometimes. Often it's a shadowy figure standing on the far side of the room not moving eventually fading away, although the first one actually charged at me causing me to sit up and slide back into the wall preparing for an attack, I yelled, "who the F are you?". The other common one is a spider descending down onto me which causes me to fly out of bed and begin looking for it, I hate spiders.

Great concise explanation. I never had these until I reached my late 40s. Now they occur only a few times a year, but the people and animals I’ve seen are very detailed and vivid (not shadowy as others have mentioned). The thing I find most puzzling is where my mind is pulling these images from? While vivid and detailed, they almost never resemble people or animals I have encountered in reality.

I’ve had strong hypnagogic and hypnopompic hallucinations since I was a child and the stress of growing up in a violent household mad with worse. I would have paralysis and see shadow figures in the room during my nightmares, relive traumatic events like sexual abuse and surviving a terrorist attack, I would be stuck asleep knowing I had to to get up for school or work and sometimes would see dreams on one sid dog my head and the room/reality on the other side and real world noises like alarm clocks could translate to sirens in the dream. I would often hear my parents shouting my name as if I was in trouble and run to their bedroom in a panic and see fractals, swirling shapes and colours all over my walls in a similar fashion to how people describe DMT trips. It was incredibly distracting because you obviously still see it even when your eyes are closed.

I will see people standing around me and hovering over me. I will think my wife is trying to attack me. My wife says im very active. I sit up and look around the room. I talk to people. I watch her. For me, ive seen a range of unsettling and mundane things. ive woken up to a melted faced old woman, a white ghost head shaking extremely fast in front of my face and some kinda pale demon with black voids for eyes. So now when i wake up, i usually wait a little bit with my eyes closed until i fully wake so i dont risk seeing some weird stuff. Falling asleep ive experienced the sound of someone walking real fast up to the side of my bed and felt them crawl in followed by intense demonic growling in my ear. Those are the more intense ones while the mildest, yet most vivid one was when i was tired but awake, and there was a hairball that was floating in the room and burned up on its own. Kinda silly but worth mentioning. I apologize for the long comment but if whoever is reading this and is experiencing these for the first time, its good to know that these things cant hurt you and youre not crazy.

The first one I (recall) experienced was last year. I woke up, in the middle of the night (I seem to, mostly, have them in the dark and NOT the morning light) and, to the left of my bed, I thought I saw a GIANT, purple, glittery double helix/DNA strand-like figure (I know, VERRRRY random)…and it, quickly, dissipated. When I visioned this, I coulda SWORE, I screamed, at the TOP of my lungs…but, as a few minutes passed, I began to doubt if THAT was even real. I say that because, my room is across from my parents and, normally, they can damn near hear a PIN drop, in my room, from where they are. The most recent one I had was, around last week. Once again, I woke up, in the dark and, to the right adjacent of my bed, I thought I saw, and I’m not sure how to describe it but, a “burnout” image of a tree. Again, it, quickly, disappeared. Random AF.

I've seen people standing around me bed. I've seen people hovering over me. I've woken up while on my side and my face on the edge of the bed facing the wall. I woke up and seen somebody staring right into my eyes. I would constantly wake up and think my wofe is trying to attack me. I've rushed out of bed and stood with my back to the corner for hours while I try to get a grasp on reality because I'm sure you know it takes awhile to get a hold of yourself in these instances. I am a very active sleeper. My wife has seen me sit up and look around the room. Point at things. Talk to people. She's even seen me watching her. It's like I'm haunted at night. Very scary. But with weed it hardly happens anymore.

Its so interesting how these strange experiences are shared by many people. I commonly have hallucinations where a spider is desceding to my face from the ceiling, sometimes I wake up covered in spiders, or less commonly at times a giant spider will be above me. I dont have a phobia of spiders in any way which I think makes it stranger. Ive had a couple that arent even scary in any way where I know it isnt real, one time being two horses in my room slowly walking towards me.

I had a hypnopompic hallucination for the first time when I was 15. I woke up from a nightmare, and was trying to get comfortable to fall back asleep, when suddenly, I heard loud raspy breathing next to my head. It didn’t quite sound human, and the breathing started off calm at first, but it soon sped up, as if whatever it was got excited, and I was convinced that I was about to be ripped to shreds by a demon or something. I stayed with my mother the rest of the night and was unable to fall alseep. I had nightmares for a week afterwards, and would continue to have these hallucinations over the next few years before finally learning what they actually were. I usually just hear breathing, but sometimes I feel things sitting on my chest, or on my bed next to me, and sometimes I get the sensation that my blankets are being pulled off. I usually don’t open my eyes because I don’t want to see whatever my brain has come up with, but I did open my eyes once when I heard knocking on my door. Luckily, all I saw was a bunch of random black shapes floating around in my room, not scary at all. They’re becoming less frequent now though. In fact, I just had one of these hallucinations for the first time in months today when I was taking a nap, and I wasn’t even scared because I knew what it was and I’m so used to it now. Though, I do still have anxiety about going to sleep at night. even though I know it’s fake and totally harmless, it’s still not a pleasant experience.

I'll have hypnopompic hallucinations every now and then, though they're less common now than they used to be. The first one I ever had was when I was living on my own. I woke up and rolled over to check my phone when I heard a little girl's voice happily say "Hi!" behind me. I turned around and saw a porcelain doll climbing up onto my bed. I HATE porcelain dolls so I immediately screamed and ran out of my house. I was going to call my brother to just make sure I wasn't going insane, but in my panic, I had dropped my phone in my room. I slowly crept upstairs, getting ready to throw hands with a living doll, but I was so scared that I think I just passed out because I remember getting tunnel vision towards the top step and then just waking up on the hallway floor. None of my reactions to them were ever that bad again after talking to my doctor about it, but man, that was one of the worst experiences of my life lol

I had one of these recently, I was experiencing overwhelming daytime sleepiness, which I was worried might be a symptom of narcolepsy (no sleep paralysis as far as I'm aware though). I walked into my bedroom, almost falling asleep on my feet, and for a brief instant I saw a set of pyjamas on my bed as my cat. Occasional dog or cat hallucinations have been part of my life sine a major haemorrhagic stroke in 2017. Nothing too distressing, just sometimes I'm not sure what I'm seeing and it resolves into a cat or dog. I continue to be amazed by the amount of useful medical information that can be found on KZbin, thought I should probably spend less time self-diagnosing based on KZbin videos.

I sometimes hear voices while falling asleep since I was a child and I’m used to it but about 3 weeks ago I started seeing spiders when I woke up. The first time I threw myself out of the bed and really hurt myself. It causes me incredible distress as I have arachnophobia and I need to go sleep in the couch when it happens even though my husband searched the whole room for the spider. Today I searched this in Google and found out about this hallucinations and it was soothing to me as last night I started crying for a long time with my husband cos I was sure I was going insane and becoming psychotic or something. I do have ptsd and ocd and have been going through a very hard time in my life lately due to issues at work so I wonder if this was the trigger as it started then.

I used to feel my deceased cat get in bed with me. I have sleep apnea and now hear slamming and knocking. I am consulting with a neighbor because this may be real as a response to my snoring. I am afraid to sleep at night now. I have ptsd from a violent ex and hearing this at night doesn't help.

I have experienced these type of hallucinations at least 300 times in my life time I don’t know if it was influenced from substances like marijuana or a lot of drinking, but my rem sleep has definitely been permanently altered, my sleep hallucinations are usually tactile and out of body, where I’m able to move around my room freely and then get thrown back into my paralyzed body, I usually hear loud music playing or voices of one or multiple of what you would call a supernatural deity. The worst one for me tho by far is the tactile sensations of being touched by multiple beings anything from rubbing to pinching my skin for the duration of the experience. I experience minimal visual hallucinations but at the same time I usually try to keep my eyes closed or slightly opened in fear of seeing something scary like a demon or something. They all started when I was 18 years old and now I am 20, It could narcolepsy I’ll have to look into it, but thank you for clarifying that we aren’t schizo.

I always had those. I can even control them to some extent. They are weaker than when I was a kid. The only actual time they were an issue was when I played Serious Sam until late and every time I closed my eyes I would see the monsters and tunnels.

I've experienced sleep paralysis around 5-6 times over the years. The first instance was petrifying, and the other instances still struck me with fear, even whilst I knew what was happening. Spooky stuff. A few nights ago I was completely exhausted; I just started drifting off and suddenly it felt as though my blanket wrapped tightly around my neck (as if I was being strangled). This happened 3 times in a row. The third time it felt like I became very light and tingly. It felt different to sleep paralysis, and as sleep paralysis had only happened to me during mid-sleep. Hoping whatever that was, it doesn't occur again tonight. Basically only just remembered about it.

Thank you for your comment, and I am sorry to hear that you're having these frightening experiences. They certainly could be "normal, non pathologic" experiences. However, I would recommend speaking with your primary care provider, just to make sure that the choking sensation isn't a form of obstructive sleep apnea, or breathing difficulty while asleep (which can be treated). I wish you the best, - Dr. Pagnani

I have hypnopombic hallucinations since childhood, there are really scary! I see a person (in the dark) walking towards me. I also have seen a hand trying to grab me. But it's always when I wake up. And when I see things like that, I scream and they are instantly gone!

People constantly be talking about how scary it is, but honestly, I rarely fall asleep at any moment without hallucinating as I’m falling asleep and sometimes I’ll wake up to see faded images floating around my room. The same thing happens to my mom. She can fall asleep anywhere because she has narcolepsy. When she starts falling asleep, she often continues to talk or continue to perform whatever she is doing. She has driven down the street while partially asleep on multiple occasions. She has fallen asleep in conversations with me before and continue to talk, but however, she would start saying nonsense. The same thing happens to me. Remember, I began to fall asleep in a discussion with my classmates, but I was still partially listening, and I asked them if they had said something about Europe or something, and they just looked at me funny. Also, I remember, I was doing a test in the chair in the back of my math classroom. I began to fall asleep But not even a few seconds into me falling asleep a voice screamed at me to wake up. The class was completely still, and nobody was looking in my direction and I don’t think there was anybody in that class who had that voice. I remember being in that class when I began to fall asleep two days ago and then a voice screamed my name. it could not have been my teacher or one of my classmates because the voice belongs to a Caucasian sounding female there are no Caucasian females in my class. I also remember blinking well, watching a sermon and hearing clapping every time I blinked to open up my eyes again to a still room. I also remember falling asleep during my math teacher lecture, except I wasn’t fully asleep because I remember seeing him walking around the room and on top of that, I thought I was doing my work because I was hallucinating myself completing the work when I was really slumped on my desk a few seconds four minutes, which felt like at least an hour to me because when my math teacher told me to wake up, it was only a few minutes after but for some reason, there was also another teacher walking around with him who has his own class in the moment so I doubt that he would be just walking around inside of another teacher’s class for no reason and also he disappeared after my math teacher tried to get me up. Generally, by hallucinate something, it’s generally something funny or just timeless, although I have closed my eyes to get scared sometimes in class I start to fall asleep for a few seconds ringing in my ears still being partially aware of what is being said in class only to be startled to my senses with a jerk

Hypnagogic hallucinations are the only thing that describes what I experience once every few days-weeks. They happen after exciting events, like football games, my performances, sports practice, other events I’ve looked forward to, etc. I’m always trying to fall asleep, but I can’t because I’m hallucinating that the event is still going on and that I need to get out of bed to continue it. I always know I’m awake and that it isn’t real but I can’t convince myself that it isn’t. It’s sights and sounds of events playing out behind me, usually. It’s awful because I can’t fall asleep, and I’m not sure what this could be besides hypnagogic hallucinations. Anyone have any idea?
@krystalmakiha6786

Yes, I've had that a handful of times in my life, especially after loud, exciting nights. I've also had some nights where I can hear my dream starting, while I'm laying in bed trying to fall asleep (I know it's not real, even though the sounds or voices are really clear). In my 20's I would occasionally wake up and thought I saw spiders on the wall. That was scary. In my 30s, I sometimes wake to see vivid things in my room, like once I saw a cartoon looking, almost computer pixelated friendly spider hanging from the ceiling. It was so cool, almost like augmented reality where you can see the room and then there's a cartoon image overlaying the real world. I had my eyes open, but I knew the cartoon wasn't real. It was fun, not scary, and the image didn't fade for at least a few minutes. Last night, my son woke me shortly after I fell asleep and I could see big, bulky hair tie on my wrist but couldn't feel it. As he was talking to me and as I was talking to him, I was trying to touch the hair tie with my other hand but I couldn't because it wasn't really there. And I knew logically it wasn't there, but it looked so real and was so interesting to try to touch it! I don't remember my dreams very often and when I use my imagination to imagine things, the images are always fuzzy. But I find it really fun to have these hallucinations because they seem so clear and 100% real. I've just realised though, that sometimes they're a little scary, like when I wake in the night because I think I heard someone turn a light on in another room, or I think I heard a floor board creak, then I get an adrenalin rush and it can take a good 30mins to calm back down. Anyway, all this to say.... I've finally started researching why I have these experiences and one reason could be narcolepsy. Maybe something for you to consider too?

I had this at 3am today for the first time. I live alone. I was looking at my tv/dresser and I heard white noise and a voice behind me. My covers slowly coming off of my body. I really thought someone was in my room. It almost felt as if Freddy Kreuger had been pulled in from a dream. Scary stuff.

After a long day and tired the drive home, I often experience hallucinations. Usually it involves weird shapes flowing into the road or blockages. I know, it's dangerous, so I also typically stop to take a nap. When I wake up, im usually confused and just have the idea in my head that I have to go. If I look out the window and see the sky is blotchy, I typically catch on pretty quick that I'm hallucinating. I have however driven off in this state and severely punctured my tire on a curb

I have experienced something similar but I was completely awake. I consider them "perceptual mirages" . One interesting one was a reflection of light moving across my windshield while driving on a dark road. It looked just like a banshee. I was awake and startled. It flew all the way across the windshield before disappearing. No, I didn't get in a deadly accident.

I had a similar experience. Woke up to a figure shrouded in white. Also shrouded white hood and a shadow where the face was. Fully visable but transparent in a early morning lit room. The fabric was not flowy at all but rather seemed like a very thick fabric with the wrinkles and creases being horizontal. It lasted long enough for me to move over on my bed and put my hand through it and it faded away right before eyes.

I don't know if mine are hallucinations. They happen as I wake up, but I am fully awake. I can actually participate in a conversation and still see them. They involve 1. moving artistic geometry. 2. Rows on numbers going up, sort of like the Matrix. Some are numbers (I remember 5s and 3s, and others are symbols). 3. Rapid scenes of "cartoons", like a story that's being told but too fast for me to determine what it is about. 4. A combination of 3 and 4, side by side. These all look like light projections of the wall. NO colors. Just made of light.

Shapes, smoke, screaming, yelling. Theres this one scary thing that I see that scares me so much that I used to fall from my bed alot. I now have a small bed rail. I'd run into my walls, door and into the closet a few times with horrible fear and it takes some time to wake up. Its keeping me from actually getting good sleep. I deal with a very deep version of this. In my words atleast. I deal with hypnagogic ones. And iv had it for a couple yrs before I did my own research and discovered hypnagogic was the closest I could find to my situation. I litterly can have these day after day. Sometimes 6 days a week. Iv learned to deal with em and even have learned to look forward to them. Once I read it didn't mean a brain disorder I kinda just went with em. I get that exploding head thing that was deff freaky at first but when is seen that was normal for hypnagogic hallucinations I now try to ride em out as long as I can..its gets scary though. Im still aware I'm dreaming in these things. I can wake myself up but it's really hard and sometimes it takes 3 or 4 trys to do it. If I fail to open my eyes I go right back into the dream situation. Such a crazy experience and very hard to explain to someone who doesn't have it. I don't have narcolepsy thats for sure. I embrace these things now! Thanks for the vid man

I also see surveillance equipment and odd machines in a glowing green color. I see green often but sometimes color too. I just stare at it as hard as I can to get details. It's fascinating now. I've seen things for many years. Thousands of people. Some my dead relatives. And many patterns, never insects or spiders though as others have, but when you mentioned surveillance equipment that peaked my interest, as I've seen this video type camera for 35 years. About once a month. I've woken up, but am fully awake not half awake, and not paralyzed. I watch it scan the room from a corner usually. I find it all fascinating. I'm a completely normal person. No drugs or drink. I don't like it when these people I see are right up close to me. I can see every detail. I once saw a man in a robe looking in to my glass of water very intently. I put my lamp on when he had gone, and there was a moth floating in the water! This shocked me as it kind of proved that he could have been real. Am I seeing Spirit People I wonder??

I've had 4 experiences like this and they only started last year, first experience was I awake and Im looking at my bedroom wall right in front of me and it is covered with diamond shapes but these shapes are made from a glowing light like some sort of reflection, and I think to myself where is this coming from so i turn and look at my curtain thinking there may be a light striking through causing these glowing shapes but it was black just dark no light, so I was so confused I was like what is this and I even blink a couple times to clear my eyes and they were still there, then as I was staring it disappears right in front of me and I was left so confused like what in the world just happened. Second time I awoke and I saw this big white glowing kind of mass like a cloud just sitting on my wardrobe and I was like wait a minute wheres all my boxes and stuff on top of the wardrobe because it was gone clear couldn't see anything except the white glowing cloud, I thought but I have a whole of stuff on top of my wardrobe where is it, oh I must say in those moments it felt like bliss heaven the most peaceful feeling no aches and pains in my body nothing just pure happiness the most calm amazing feeling I've ever physically experienced, then as I'm looking at this cloud it disappears and I see everything that was on top of my wardrobe, and all this was when I was awake lying in bed about to get up. Ok now the third time, on a different wall in my room, same experience as the first however its the number 8, sitting next to each other closely fit, creating a pattern that was made from light, again there is no light through the curtain etc it was dark, as I am staring in wonderment and confusion it disappears in front of me. Ok now the fourth experience which happened last week, I awake and look straight at me ceiling it looked like the sky because it had light clouds just hovering under my entire ceiling and I'm staring at it and wondering what are those brownish red crack like lines all over the ceiling, I thought why do I have lines on my ceiling whats going on, again I blinked many times to clear my vision and they were still there, and I thought I don't have lines on my ceiling whats going on, and once again as I'm staring at them it disappears right in front of me and I get out of bed.

Are the hallucinations always combined with the sleep paralysis? For years I've experienced what I believe to be narcoleptic hallucinations but don't remember ever having sleep paralysis along with them. Just the opposite, my knee-jerk reaction is almost always to kick, punch, throw a pillow at the "spider" , or whatever it is that day, crawling on the wall or ceiling.

I’ve had hypnopompic hallucinations a few times in my life. The most vivid lasted a few minutes, including noises and, upon getting up and opening my curtains, seeing a black shapeless form floating next to my window trying to open it from the outside. I was pretty out of it during that one, the most intense were the touch based ones. They were a fraction of a second but it included one where i felt being sexually assaulted. Definitely startling. Most people haven’t seem to heard of these despite knowing about sleep paralysis. It wasn’t something I thought was possible till my first when I must have been about 17. I wonder if there’s any correlation between frequency of these, sleep paralysis, and those with other sleep disturbances like sleep walking (I’m a sleep talker myself, with some difficulty and confusion waking up in the mornings).

I used to have these but haven't for years: spiders and flies meandering across my line of vision, and also (as some others have mentioned) some cartoon-like characters. The insects looked so real I was beginning to worry that they have entered my ear somehow and ended up inside my brain! So glad they haven't continued to occur but it's hard to forget how frightening they were at the time.

In this quick dream I tried to ask why the ice cream truck had ladders and when I spoke I came back to reality and realized I was speaking gibberish while my friend was still talking and even he asked why I was mumbling words that didn't make any sense lol. It's funny, but it's so strange.

I used to get this as a kid when I would have baseball games that would sometimes not end until 11pm, when I got home and got ready to sleep all of a sudden I felt like a was in the dug out with all my teammates around and I felt embarrassed for laying down and sleeping in the dug out lol.

Sooo many spider ones... I get hypnopompic spider hallucinations too and it's not a phobia of mine so why? Makes me think we're actually tapping into a different dimension/realm of some kind 🕷️

This morning around 7am, I was lying on my side facing my wall. Then I felt as if a cat jumped on my bed and started walking up towards me. I turned around to see what it was and nothing was there. Also I don’t own a cat, and I sleep by myself. After that I tried to go back to bed and layed back down on my side again but more on my stomach. I felt the same thing happen, only this time it walked up towards me and started to walk on my back. I got up and turn on my lamp but nothing, nothing was there.

I used to feel something sitting on the end of my bed also feel hands or something pushing on the bed up towards me. I told my husband that we had a spirit buddy cause I would hear wispers and get poked. I didn't tell him it sat on the bed. We worked different shifts, he came out and asked me if I sat on the bed. Spirit buddy left us when we moved. We saw a light under the spare room door next to the bedroom. A room with drawn curtains and no night lights. When my husband got up to open the door it went away. I know the difference between my hallucinatory dreams and otherworldly.
