@@caldtoo Agree! He just ignored that the Name of the Game is "Decked Out". He just wanted to brute force the game with his parkour skills. It worked out initially and it was painful to watch him fail in later phases. Suit-up should bring him back in the game. Let's see what happens in phase 6.

Even if Hypno's playstyle hasn't led to as many wins, many of us find it interesting to watch his aggressive run style and his analysis of his failed runs. While there's nothing wrong with rooting for Hermits who are doing especially well (Etho's runs are awesome), there's also no need to neg those who haven't lived up to your expectations.

Damn that 3rd run hurt. Soon as he said Mid Lvl 3, I was thinking Foremans office (Scar room as I like to call it). Whrn Hypno said it was down to the right and left stairs went to bottom lvl, I knew it was going to be a tough one for him.

Yeah, there's only 2 Hard compasses that go to Level 3: one is top floor and one is middle floor. It's pretty easy to memorize 2 locations and know exactly which to go to from the moment you get your compass, if you know what the 2 locations are.

42:00 The sniff range on wardens is very short, only 6 blocks horizontally. I think in most cases unless the warden is directly on top of the compass, it's better to just go in, get the artifact and run than try to lure it out.

I think you should trade one or two of your reckless charges. They add a lot of hazard and clank which is negatively impacting your chances of getting out of the dungeon and you only sometimes get a decent amount of embers from them anyways. Especially with suit up, you’re always going to have insanely high clank. Might be worth it to trade one for an evasion or something.

@@hypnotizd fair enough. Just thought that the expense of 2 hazard and purposely trying to trigger 1.25 clank for the chance of 2-3 frost embers on average, seems a bit steep. I haven’t gone back and rewatched your first runs, but it seems like you were doing much better on the runs with 2 reckless charges than 3. Since you have a better strategy and are generally playing the dungeon better, I thought that third reckless charge might be the reason. Regardless, I’m really happy I found you playing in phase 1 because I really enjoy your videos and runs.

@@alexanderkonczal3908 sure but lootin’ and scootin’ doesn’t have any downsides. It’s substantially better than reckless charge because of that. Hypno should definitely keep one or two reckless charges because they have good uses, but idk if his deck is able to counteract the negative effects of all 3. The dungeon repair helps a lot (though it adds a clank as well) but the randomness of cards drawn means there’s a decent chance that the hazard block is played well after a bunch of hazard doors have closed. In many of his runs (especially today) we’ve seen an early reckless charge before he’s even able to get to a shrieker which just results with more hazard. This will slow him down as he’s looking for keys, frost embers, or trying to get to his artifact. Something like an evasion (which I could be wrong, but don’t think he has) or more tread lightly would go a far way. Especially in conjunction with removing just one reckless charge. At the end of the day I just think the lack of clank block and the heavy generation of hazard is working against him. That being said I can tell Hypno likes the game play aspect of trying to get frost embers from reckless charge, so it’s best that he enjoys the game and playing it how he wants to play it because that what makes it the most interesting to us.

I'm so glad you managed to get your hands on a suit up card! That should really help avoid some unlucky deaths by ravager or willie. I think now that lv3 has been made much harder, it might be worth it just to play hard runs and try to get maximum value out of your reckless charge cards. Also, you would definitely benefit from some more clank block in your deck if you can pick those up!

Suit up super op for someone with low clank block. If you going to level 3 most of the time you will have max clank anyways if you have low clank block. Getting max clank in middle of level 3 or on the way back in the middle of level 2 is no different since the level 1 is the most dangerous level to have max clank, while suit of armor will allow you to take way more hits from vex. Having suit up card while running deep levels is like having diamond armor with no drawbacks.

The biggest problem with Suit Up is the cost. It gives rare/legendary tier value for uncommon tier price. If it costed 64+ frost embers I don't think there'd be as much of an argument because I suspect the card will pretty much be required to get out of level 4.

Disagree. If this was the case then it would be a bad case of the rich get richer. If you're already coming out of the dungeon rich now you can stay longer with less worry. This card should have been ethereal and given as the catch up mechanic imo.

Hey Hypno! Commented last time about reckless charge but don’t jump, you sometimes can hop over the actual spacing where the shriekers pick up your sound, just sprint and you’ll be guaranteed to activate them

Hypno I think you need to really pay attention to shrieker locations and start memorizing them. You tend to set one off then have to back track and set the same exact one off.

I hope Tango buffs max clank. Suit up should be a trade off, insanely tanky but more clank. Right now Suit up also makes max clank escapes a lot easier. He has said some things on stream including (if I remember correctly) turning off resistance beacon at max clank and for max clank he might be adding more evokers. I still think suit up will stay overpowered, for sure with higher clank and hazard block decks. It is beyond busted right now but we will see how it progresses. Personally, I hate the card. It removes a lot of the danger of the dungeon and the trade off is often intangible. The best would be a 1 time use armor set, which breaks after 1 hit. However this is nearly impossible to do in Minecraft, with all the tiny damages and effort for creating low durability armor. We will see, good luck with future runs :)

There's already some delay compensation built in, but unfortunately some shriekers are just further from the card processing center and their signal takes too long to arrive. But at the same time, some shriekers are closer than average, and can proc the card if you happen to trigger them before it's even announced.

@Emailminecraft I believe you are safe in the pit. It's 3.25 blocks down due to the soul sand, so it is unlikely the ravager could reach him until he jumped when he fell in the fire. To be fair, jumping when falling in fire is a natural reaction. It would be hard to say calm and walk out of the fire, but we won't really know for sure until the world download comes out.

Has nothing to do with depth. He was thinking the ravager was zoned. He got hit because the ravager can get up on the cobblestone wall meaning he was less than 1.5 blocks from the ravager.

No guys it's literally not that complex, if he jumped Over the soul sand, he wouldn't have got damaged, or fire ticked. We can agree on that. Next point is that HE HAD TO JUMP but he jumped on the edge of soul sand. One of the latter jumps could have not been executed from Hypno and therefore he would have made it because the fire tick slowed him down. HE HAD TO JUMP!

As much as Suit Up is basically your superpower-Hypno-buff card and I'm super cheering for you, I do think it's fair to rebalance it a little bit, it kind of breaks the max clank system. I'd make good use of it while you can and start stockpiling as much clank block as possible! Lol. One suggestion was to turn off resistance at max clank and I think that's fair. Another option is to make max clank even more deadly with a few more evokers and more water.

Nice runs. Unfortunately I think it is almost a guarantee that Suit Up will get nerfed for next phase. During one of Tango's streams someone suggested removing the resistance effect when at max clank. Would still be a powerful card, but won't be able to tank as many vex hits.

Just an idea: For compass, you can choose a spot to stand on every time (like in a corner down the stairs) and start making data on where it is pointed and the drop off location. When we have enough data, next time we can just go to the spot and instantly know which drop off location it was pointed to. Or you can just analyze past runs

I think with the wardens you need to be more comfortable with being close to the wardens, rather than treating them as ravagers. There were many times in the third run where you would peek a corner to see the warden, only to back as if it could see you. There were also times where you were trying to lure them like ravagers. It may be worth just booting up a test world and playing around with some ravagers to see how they react.

Really hoping Tango changes suit up like he said he might do. The combination of resistance 2 and the armour is probably too much for the price. The downside of the increased clank is almost insignificant. He was thinking about removing the resistance at max clank, which is honestly a very good idea. It deters the behaviour to play recklessly, because you shouldn’t be invincible just from one common card. It might not even be enough, but it’s still a change I would want to see. Seeing every hermit with suit up is also not fun to watch.

It’s not a rare card, so it being this bang for your buck shouldn’t be a thing is what I’m saying. 38 embers for something that gives you armour and 40% flat damage reduction is a lot for what you are losing in clank. Brilliance for example is 70 embers that makes you QuickDraw 2 cards, which is far less valuable than Suit Up. So I would rather see a nerf in Suit Up than see it be a requirement in your deck so to speak. I also like the idea of Suit Up not working with jump/speed boosts. Armour weighs you down and makes you beefier, so it would be a choice then to sacrifice agility for tankiness. My main point is that the upside of suit up far outweigh the downside for the amount of embers it costs.

Only problem is that there's no way to get slowness as a static effect. You get resistance, speed, etc as beacon effects. Potion effects couldn't last the whole run and dungeon-wide splash potions would affect everything else as well.

So that first level 3 run you had was in the most confusing place to get to on the middle floor. I won't spoil it for you on how to get there though. It is on the middle level, but the Wardens were not blocking your access to it. Also when you died, you weren't in a dead end like you thought you were.

The hermits should start putting their unusable dungeon loot (unused frost embers, coins that don't add up to 4, extra keys and berries) in the chest inside the victory room. That chests contents can then be auctioned off at the start of the next phase for the winner to take into the dungeon. It's almost as good as the pay it forward thing Tango squashed.

Why do we put the ravager in the statue room instead of the loop to the left?

If you put it in the left room it can wander down the pathway and potentially get caught in the max clank water. It's very difficult for it to pathfind out of the kneeling statue room during a run and it's super easy to dodge and maneuver around it.
