We had a chicken that used to get hypnotized every day at the same time of day when the sun cast a shadow on our porch rail slats. Funny explaining it to people. 😊

We used to do that to our grandma's chickens when we were kids… I remember one time we had gone out early in the morning before grandma got up to go collect eggs…. We had put a dozen of her prize hens asleep like that but we drew lines in the dirt… we laid those hens out in a straight line and when grandma came out to collect her eggs, she thought something had killed her hens and came running up to the house hollering for my grandpa… he walked out and saw the lines in the dirt in front of the chickens, knew exactly what we had done cuz he showed us how To do it the day before, and just started laughing…. Grandma didn’t think it was too funny when grandpa went and just brushed the lines out of the dirt with his foot and the chickens started "waking up" and taking off…. My rear end caught the end of my grandmas bull whip she carried with her… that sting was well worth it… 😂😂😂😂

We used to do it, but beak to the ground and then we’d draw a line in the dirt from the beak forward with a stick over and over about 5-6 times. lol. Fun times as a kid.

I have never seen this, but you can take a baby chicken and cup it in both hands, swig it around about 3 times, open your hands, and it will not move. I have done this many times.
