@@renjieliu9056 Obviously he is against them but at least he should stop missleading the audience by claiming a NIGHT essential oil will cause dark spots on your skin. The NIGHT recovery essential oil of Kiehl's is used at NIGHT, and as far as i know there is not sunlight during the night so how anyone could get a dark spot then?. Also i have the calendula toner which is free alcohol and free essential oils, etc. and it really helps to calm and hydrate the skin, he said it is a good product but not neccessary, that it goes the so well known subject about toners, originally they were used to compensate the ph of the water, the toner then would help rebalancing your the ph of your skin, now it is used more for hydratation, i love it, it prepares my skin nefore my serum, i follow the 6 layers of toners recommended by south koreans beauty junkie, but that it's just me, there are people like this guy who don't use toners or almost nevr use them and that it's ok, but that it is only his personal preference, that doesn't make a toner bad. In resume those things he said in this video is more his personal taste due his skin needs, and the needs of other people are different therefore the products he criticized are not bad at all, they are just not for him.

Kiehls has been a huge game changer for my skin! The first product I tried was the midnight recovery & let me telllll youuuuuu! It left my skin glowing! I didn’t even need to use my tinted moisturizer! & got so many compliments! Mind you it was literary after three days of use. This was three years ago & still going strong with their products! I have extremely sensitive skin! & my face looks amazing! Plump, clear & glowing! I have not yet met a person that doesn’t like their products. It wasn’t until I had my daughter in 2018 that I learnt about fragrance in skincare. It was really hard to find any baby body cream that didn’t have fragrance. I then started taking notice of what was in my skin care. Now, I’m obsessed with eliminating those kind of ingredients and looking more into what actually is good for my skin and my daughters. Wish I knew all this years ago.

I don't think he's telling people NOT to buy Kiehls, he's mentioned in many videos that he knows different products work on different people, I think he's moreso just trying to tell people what the ingredients say about the product so no one goes out and wastes $50 on a product that has a possibility of irritating them or breaking them out

Joyce Nguyen ive been using kiehl’s calendula for the past 3 years and honestly, not to be biased, the toner is really soothing. it’s alcohol-free, reduces imperfections gradually, and adds moisture into my skin before the next step of skincare. i suppose any other toners will do the same but it really depends on the additional ingredients the company adds to that toner. anyways, the purpose of the toner is to re-wash your face and adds moisture into your skin before the next step so that all the other products are easily absorbed

This is a very subjective review. Kiehl's seems to have worked wonders for A LOT of people. You guys gotta remember he is self-taught and seems to lack thorough research. I say this because some of his comments are conjecture, conveyed as fact.

He literally says in every video that just because something didn't work for him or he didn't like it, it doesn't mean it will not work for someone else... And I think that depends on your definition of "self-taught", because he is considered a specialist for a reason. He works with and learns from dermatologists and estheticians as a career, and he literally will not even talk about something if he hasn't done enough research yet to back it up.... Just saying. No hate.

@@cassthompson3386 Lol only way to be considered an expert or specialist is to have actual knowledge in that field through the title as a dermatologist etc. Anyone can do research. Doesn’t mean it’s “correct”. You basically just copy and paste. A self taught/self proclaimed expert regardless of how much he works with “professionals” won’t change the fact that he isn’t. At least know how to use the product correctly before claiming it’s shit. People take what he says as facts. Scary. The world is going backwards where anyone can claim they are experts only based on opinions. Opinions aren’t facts.

I feel like he just reads ingredients lists and decides on that for the most part...If he was an actual scientist he would know that a list means very little,you also need to know the way of production (seriously even temperatures make a difference),the different phases of the materials in the mixture and many more things.I am not a chemist but I am a physicist and it's basic material science (not a material scientist either) that the names of the ingredients in a mixture aren't enough to determine its properties.Plus,some people tend to vilify ingredients often based on single observations or studies which are simply not conclusive enough. That is why I am against people calling themselves skincare experts,because more often than not...they aren't.

I was wondering what specifically was making me breakout out of my routine and after stumbling upon this video, and my adverse reaction the morning after I now know that’s what did it. My skin is a bit more sensitive so it definitely doesn’t really work lol but the Calendula alcohol free toner and the Calendula foaming cleansing wash paired with their Ultra facial cream has been doing WONDERS for my acne prone skin. @Charles Coderre Animal testing is not as accurate as you think. For example skin allergy tests in guinea pigs and mice only predict human reactions 72% and 82% of the time, respectively. By now, there are plenty of alternatives so it's just not necessary anymore. There are accurate AI predictive models, you can use cell cultures or volunteers. Why stick to old unethical methods if you can do it better?

Interesting! You may want to do a little more research into eye creams though, they definitely do serve a purpose. The molecular size of the ingredients is smaller so as to penetrate under eye area more effectively, and using heavy occlusives like regular moisturizers under your eyes is one of the leading causes of milia.

*THANK YOU* , Sara!!!!🙌🏻✨ It seems to be a "trend" saying that eye creams are "expensive unnecesary moisturizers" 😕 But ABSOLUTELY EVERYBODY agrees with this objective biological reality: _The skin of the eye contour is thinner and more sensitive than the rest of the face. The folicles are and work different and that' s why acne never attacks this area with blackheads os cysts...🤷🏻‍♀️_ So, a well formulated eye cream makes sense. 👁️👁️ Babes, I am 46 and nobody could tell. Keep on using regular moisturizer on your eyes and let' s meet again in about 20-25 years 🤗😉 👵🏻👵🏽👵🏿🧓🏻🧓🏽🧓🏿.. 🧛🏻‍♀️💜

Sorry Hyram, but I *LOVE* the Midnight Recovery Oil. It is the first oil that I noticed immediate results by the time i wake up. I am 27 with acne-prone skin (mostly due to hormonal imbalances and my love for dairy) but when I apply the MRO at the end of my day, I wake up with less redness, soft, and glowing skin. I might be crazy but I even notice some pimples decrease in size. Its not even greasy and the smell doesnt bother me, it is very strong but I like it. A little drop or 2 goes A LONG way. Yes, it is fckin expensive and I am cheap af ...which is why I keep going back for "samples" lol but it lasts me about 2-3 weeks. It is the only oil I am willing to spend on just because of the results on my skin. Everybody's different and I completely respect Hyrams knowledge and advice so I still take it into consideration with other brands/products.

As a licensed Aesthetician, I love the keihls avocado eye cream and I recommend it to all clients that ask about good eye creams . I don’t have to rub it in , you should never rub underneath the eye . I take a small amount on my ring finger and lightly dab it underneath the eye area . And I also have to disagree about not needing an eye cream in your skincare routine . It’s very important to have an eye cream as the area under your eyes doesn’t have sebaceous glands (oil producing glands) and the eye creams help keep them hydrated in order to prevent premature against underneath the eyes.

I just repurchased the Midnight Recovery Oil too just this weekend. This is my 1st time to watch this guy’s video and already he’s hating on my favorite skin care product. 😑 Seriously, my skin hates oil but it loves Kiehl’s.

I love the midnight recovery oil... it has really improved my skin texture... I also like the avocado cream as it’s a good consistency... I guess products react different for different skins...

I've used it for years and really noticed a difference in my skin (49yo male). I recently (within the last month) decided to give the Rosehip Oil from the Ordinary a try and I'm really impressed. It's a fraction of the price and sinks in a lot quicker than the MRO and leaves my skin looking and feeling great. It has no scent (which was never an issue for me) so can be used under the eyes etc. I also use it as a cuticle / nail / dry skin treatment which I wouldn't use the MRO for as it's too expensive.

I love how informative and research based your content is😍 Two requests for topics: scalp care products (especially for dry and inflamed scalps) and a review of colourpop skin care products. I have extremely sensative skin so have trouble in buying online products as I can't try before investing in a quality products - which in countries outside the US can mean expensive shipping back of products that don't work or cause irritation. Thankyou for sharing your skills and knowledge with the rest of us 😊

I mean- the ultra facial cream has definitely saved my poor skin from falling apart, but I do agree with that my wallet is having a rough time getting through this. But the result for me are definitely promising :)

I will be 39 in a couple of days and the Avocado eye cream is exactly the holy grail I was searching for a while. My under eyes are improved a lot. I think it is also noteworthy that the ultra facial cream comes in 2 formulations and wears very well under makeup. I think you are right in some parts about leaking motivation to innovate and their very high price point. The essential oils thing and allergy potential ingredients is simply something the clients need to figure out if it is working for them or not and when it comes to samples they are really mindful, you can try their products prior to the purchase. I like that a lot. They are also very organized and manage their shop testers very well from a hygene perspective. Not that I would ever touch shop testers in general but they do care about proper handeling. Lastly I absolutely don't see any connection between a global brand selling in China and taking this as evidence to suspect tgey scource their squalane from questionable sources. There is no conncetion and this point doesn't make sense to me. I like the brand but I only reach out for specific items like the ones I mentioned and their eye fuel stick for men. Really depuffs quickly. I think no brand is perfect and Kiehl's has to do some work but overall they are not the ones to point fingers at compared to others. I think to ignore them completely is a mistake. We need brands like Kiehl's and there are clients for all kinds of lines. It also really depends on your individual needs like how I adore the avocado eye cream these days. 10 years ago you could have chased me through the desert with that.

Tip: SqualEne is derived from sharks, SqualAne is when Squalene goes through hydrogenation processing, making it into a 100% saturated oil, aka the good Squalane. If a product is advertised with the Squalene spelling, it’s best to avoid it :)
@SmileyxKyley
@SmileyxKyley 4 жыл бұрын
Tiana plant derived squalene exists. Also, almost all squalane, as you said, is created from hydrogenation of squalene. So you literally can’t get squalane from a more ethical source than squalene, because the source of the squalane /is/ squalene.

So basically overall, kiehls is good. I use the ultra moisturiser, the rose petal toner and the avocado eye cream since January and my skin is glowing and fabulous now I’m so confident in my skin now that I barely wear makeup. I’m glad you approve and most stuff.

I haven't really used Khiel's products yet, but personally I think their products are surprisingly not that expensive because all of the brands people typically recommend around here (kbeauty products, cerave, the ordinary, paulas choice, etc) are all imported where I am located at. Khiels are still pricey sure, but for its quality, brand name, and the amount of product they give, it's surprisingly "fair." At the very least, if you can find the budget for it, I think Khiels body moisturizers and toners are worth trying. And their ultra facial cream.

For the avocado eye cream the kiehls workers always told me to warm up within your fingers to allow all the ingredients to mix up & not be super thick. You also don’t need a lot. Try doing this method & it will most likely help.

He voiced an opinion of one of the Clinique products he saw in his reacting to TikToks video. I think it was the take the day off balm. I can’t quite remember exactly what he said, but he had a positive and a negative about it. Bottom line, he won’t use it, but he can see why the woman in the TikTok was using it. I’m paraphrasing like hell, but I hope I got it right. :). I know it’s not an entire review and I do hope he does a full Clinique video soon, b/c I am very curious.

Bethn921 - i would be as well. i worked in cosmetics/skincare for years until recently and i can tell you that clinique’s three step system just STRIPS your skin. their one option for sensitive skin m i g h t be alcohol free (i don’t remember) but it all makes me cringe just thinking about it. and it’s just another company that has their employees walking around in lab coats to seem more “clinical” as well. just silly.

For the avocado cream it helps to activate by dabbing your index fingers together (becomes warms and thinner). And eye cream is best applied by patting on under eye not rubbing. I’ve been using mine with the ordinary caffeine serum - getting me through many night shifts as a resident!
