that clutch shieldbreak. thats why its so good for Marth, as the opponent waits for the ledge they expect an aerial... but shieldbreaker just eats them alive. Tough loss for Elegant but good presence of mind by Leo

JayE Boy, Leo risked the whole match on that shield break. He bet it all on that move. He fails: he loses the set; he succeds : he wins the set. Not cheesy, nor unfair advantage, nor obvious option. Pro-like decision (most likely unconscious I think). Still, my opinion.

yeah, it was definitely a risky move, because Elegant most likely could have punished it afterwards but sometimes you gotta risk it for the biscuit. Shieldbreaker is a semi unexpected option that when it comes out, you gotta react quickly or else. Kinda like a hidden option lol

We are talking about the situation: after his shield break (or if he had done any other aereal) the only thing Leo could have done is re-grab the ledge. That would have been it for Leo with Elegant's down smash, if he'd have failed to break Elegant's shield.

Alejandro Salgado you also failed to mention that Luigi slides when his shield is hit and that affects his dash too. Leo was pretty safe in that exchange because Shield Breaker is really strong uncharged if your shield is not 100% so that was a guranteed shield break. The best thing Elegant could have done was not shield at the ledge.

Poor Elegant, that was such a heartbreaking defeat. It was such an incredible comeback, and he was so close to defeating one of his biggest demons. I've never seen him get so frustrated before, but it was so good to see him shake hands with Leo before letting out his emotions. Great performance by both players, and as much as I'd wanted elegant to win, you can't really get mad at Leo considering how well he played.

Double shield break FTW. Wouldn't blame the guy. For the many times he has teched in this set of course his shield fingers had to have been itching during an edge guard sequence. R.I.P. to one of my favorite players, better luck next time. The tournaments are always fun to watch when these two go at it. Elegant will defeat his demon...one day.
