hey man, I got excited/filled with ideas about how this would have played out if dark link was present, so here's a bunch of stupid tidbits I wrote down: 1.) Link is dead/gone, and Dark Link was the one who took his place. However, due to the fact that Calamity Ganon's power wasn't released at the time, Calamity Ganon kinda failed at making Dark Link loyal to his forces. This is also why Dark Link doesn't look like a Hollow. In other words, Dark Link is his own entity. He lacks Link's memories, but for this reason, he still seems to possess the heroic qualities Link had, which is why Dark Link finds himself a soldier of Rhoam's army. Rhoam also thought it was a good idea to still let Dark Link in because a.), he could keep an eye on Dark Link at all times, and b.), it would let Hyrule's forces know what capabilities Dark Link had should they find him backstabbing them. 2.) As a result of his unfortunate connection with Ganon, Dark Link faces a lot of discrimination from his peers. Many of them, including Revali and Zelda, think that Dark Link is planning to betray them at the worst possible moment. 3.) In the original game, Zelda at first didn't like Link because he represented her failures - he was able to pull the sword, she was unable to unlock her powers, that's why she resented him. In this version, it's still the same. She views Dark Link as a testament to her failures because in her mind if she'd had her sealing power, she could've prevented Link's corruption completely (Calamity Ganon wouldn't DARE), or she might've been able to get rid of the corruption, thus saving Link. She also doesn't trust him that much, so that's the reason for their feud. Imagine her horror when she found out that Dark Link would be protecting her; in her eyes, she was thinking "If I couldn't protect even a simple soldier from the corruption of Ganon, who am I to accept protection from him?" 4.) Revali still dislikes Dark Link, which is no surprise. Revali thinks that no one connected to Ganon can be a good person. By the end of the game, though, Revali begrudgingly accepts Dark Link as a member of their ranks because he recognizes that Dark Link truly was a good person. Mipha is still friends with Dark Link because even though she knows the Link she knew was basically dead, she still could recognize aspects of Link through Dark Link, and she realized that even if Link is dead, he has still made his mark. It's the same with Daruk. Urbosa is cautious of Dark Link, but she doesn't make any moves against him like Zelda and Revali. 5.) Zelda slowly starts to trust Dark Link after the ambush by the Yiga Clan. She doesn't quite know why, but the way Dark Link sought to defend her, and the way he'd glanced at her with exasperation after being harrassed by Terrako made her feel as though he was truly sincere with his determination to bodyguard her. I like to think that when she hesitated when she said "Link" at 2:50 was because that was the first time she called specifically for his attention, and she realized the truth of her situation. I'd also imagine that no one knows if Dark Link can talk or not - he is able to understand words perfectly fine, but no one has ever heard him speak. 6.) What cements Zelda's trust in Link (and virtually other people) is when he still pulls the Master Sword. I'd imagine that the fight in the Lost Woods was difficult for Dark Link because he was basically fighting his ex-allies. Astor probably taunted Dark Link a bunch, too. However, what separates Dark Link and the Hollows is that one party was made by Astor, and one party still has their will. When Dark Link reached out to Zelda when she was about to die, the Sword felt Dark Link's spirit, terrified of failing his duty, and Fi decided that despite Dark Link's origin, he is still worthy. This is why he didn't dissipate when she blasted her power at the Hollows. Perhaps Fi recognized this, and this was why she still let Dark Link pull the sword. When Dark Link was pulling the sword, both Zelda and Astor waited with bated breath - would the technical creation of the Calamity still be able to pull the sword and accept a duty so sacred? And he does. He pulls the sword, turns around, and he glares at Astor - to Zelda, this changes everything. Despite his origin, Dark Link is still the Hero and IS on her side. 7.) After that, Zelda pretty much trusts Dark Link fully. She realizes that Dark Link isn't a traitor, and I feel like their friendship will only grow from there. It's not just her, too - the Champions all feel more trusting of him now. After all, if the sacred sword still accepted Dark Link, then that means that he is truly no threat. As we know, Zelda cares for link by the time he fights the 4 blights, so that's the same here. i think the most important thing here is that somehow, for some reason, her holy power DOESN'T destroy him - maybe because she willed it so, maybe because the sacred sword protected him, nobody knows. 8.) FInally, I imagine that there was some anxiety about when the Calamity was defeated - would Dark Link die if Ganon was destroyed? After all, Ganon WAS his creator, so if there's no Ganon, then there's no Dark Link. After Ganon was sealed, I like to think that everyone was furiously looking for Dark Link - and somehow, despite everything, he still lives. Perhaps it was because he strayed too far from Ganon's ideals, and thus became his own person, or maybe the Goddesses themselves allowed him to live, no one knows. All they know is that Dark Link still lives despite his creator's destruction.

Kind of a shame we didn't get the Hero of time tunic in age of calamity I mean the dark Link set is pretty much the same model only black it wouldn't be difficult for Nintendo to just change the colours to the classic green (I know that tunic being in the game wouldn't make sense but then again why didn't they redo the Dark Link set to actually look like Botw Link instead of the hero of time)
