God I love that game on the 3DS. Sadly I didn't have much time for the Switch version. But man the main story for that game alone is huge. The hours upon hours of adventure map contents is just amazing. It ain't gonna be everyone's cup of tea but as a Musou fan, I would have to say that HW1 was the best Musou game ever.

Why are people complaining? Why are people complaining??? They always do this... This game is AMAZING! (Note: Constructive Criticism is ok, of course. I’m talking about the toxic fans b*tching on the internet.) In my personal opinion, this version of events is so much more exciting, complex and...cool. Canon or not, AoC’s storytelling (from what I’ve seen) is brilliant. Possibly better than BotW, though that’s not a fair comparison, considering BotW’s whole nature when it comes to story. I’m not upset at the inclusion of Time Travel; for me, it just adds more crazy-Zeldaness. (Most of the recent games have a form of it/dimension hopping anyway. SS, ALBW, BotW1...) But yeah, I love what I’ve seen so far. Can’t wait to play the full game!

Ending was a huge huge no-no for me. The cutscenes before going downhill was ok. Soundtrack amazing. Gameplay very nice. At the end of the cutscene there a two sheikahs who come to help the princess who orders them to bring link to the shrine of resurrection. One of those two sheikah is most likely Kass's teacher because he looks directly at Link. Kass said that his teacher was a sheikah who was in love with the princess, but he was annoyed by Link because he was always with the princess. Sorry but I'm so bad at explaining stuff and it's been a while since I've seen the video about Kass's teacher. I think it was from Zeltik or NintendoBlackCrisis so try to look in their channel for it

Like, I know musou games get unfairly slammed in their scores and a lot of the "reviews" are copy/paste jobs that act like every one of the games is the same, but it never ceases to amaze me how ignored the games are. Honestly keep Amiibo content like this, I wouldn't say it is unfortunate. Games like BotW or TPHD with huge Amiibo exclusive content will legit have lost content in like 20 years when so many Amiibos are almost impossible to get seeing as they already are hard to get even now. No one will experience stuff like Epona in BotW or the new sidequest TPHD had.

On the subject of Amiibo. While I do wish players were more rewarded through Amiibo, there's no way Nintendo could've locked exclusive stuff behind them, since they released no Amiibo alongside this game. As I discovered today, if you either weren't around, or simply chose not to buy the Breath of the Wild Amiibo when they first came out, odds are you can't get them at regular retail now. Amiibo are basically a limited run, and once those first couple waves are out there, they don't get restocked. I was lucky enough to find an online Australian store selling the champions I didn't own yet at a reasonable price. But I had to pay $50+ for Zelda on ebay because you just can't find those 2017 Amiibo brand new at MSRP anymore. You gotta take your chances with resell costs. If Nintendo were able to produce a small wave of Age of Calamity Amiibo, then sure, I'd assume something exclusive would be hidden behind the Amiibo-Wall. But as things stand now, it'd be a really stupid idea to expect casual players to have access to somewhat rare figures from 3 years ago just to use with this game that just came out.

I predicted around a month ago that Age of Calamity could likely be my favorite Zelda game, as broadly a non-fan of the series and a Musou lover. It seemed to follow in the footsteps of Persona 5 Scramble, where what I think are pretty great combat mechanics are finally being paired with a more thoughtful approach to theming and storytelling. The demo confirmed to me that it's clearly among the most special Musou yet, with all of the Breath of the Wild garnishes and mechanical integrations on top of some of the best movesets I've played in the broader Musou series yet, as well as what seemed, to me, to be a clear improvement in the quality and execution of its plot from that game. Can't wait for Friday, especially hearing that, even among what I expected were likely weaker areas (repeated use of Divine Beasts having diminishing returns, co-op not running particularly well), all of its possible virtues seem to have arrived whole-hog.

So I think it's worth mentioning that despite incorporating a lot of BotW elements and going the extra mile to create a more thoroughly fleshed out world, it still feels like a Warriors game and can feel repetitive at times. Even though the Warriors aspects feels more purposeful in this game because of the story and circumstances, what you get in one level is essentially what you get in all of the levels. However, with that said, the fact that each character has a distinct and enjoyable (with maybe the exception of two) playstyle and the fact that each map/area is essentially a re-scaled BotW area pre-Calamity makes the experience much more palatable. I also am surprised to hear the lack of complaints regarding the camera because personally I had quite a terrible time. Closed spaces, corners of certain areas, and specific characters can cause the camera to become super janky and/or cluttered, and with the dips in frames any time someone does anything flashy, makes for an atrocious combination. Despite these drawbacks, I genuinely enjoyed the game and am having a blast playing it (I also loved BotW so more content pertaining to my favorite game, the better).

@@Limbozobo if there's anything I've learned from playing most of the licenced omega force titles, is that those crossovers are only good for fanservice and some cheap fun and little else. So I'd rather have a focused title. Set during the time skip sounds like a terrible idea, since nothing significant could happen since three houses still has to happen, Byleth is in a coma and Dimitri is a armyless murderous hobo and the church is searching instead of engaging in battle. Unless an entire game of Edelgard wrecking generic forces sounds appealing to you. I _guarantee_ three houses will get a prequel. Either by IS' own hand or tecmo, but the war of the ten elites has entirely too much story and the game barely ever goes into even the smallest details to convince me it isn't because it will be explored in its own title (factor in that IS loves prequels and sequels). Though considering how shit the stories of persona 5 scramble and age of calamity are, I'd rather have IS make the title themselves. Though I'd also be fine with a warriors as along as omega force stays away from the script.

i had a crazy theory about the Time travel on the Zelda series, what if, Cia/Lana, being the guardian of time, interfere with time travel and created new timelines so that it were not affected by changes made in the past. It could be that Link died in the battle against ganon in Ocarina of time, Cia, who at that time she was the guardian of time, and she was in love with Link, she returns the time in that battle creating a new timeline in which Link is victorious, however the timeline in which he died did not disappear, making 2 timelines, When Zelda sent Link back in time, she creates another timeline so that whatever action Link takes does not affect the timeline that Ganon was defeated. Maybe Cia acted selfishly in turning back time so that Link wouldn't die, because we already know that later she ended up being corrupted by her feelings and the darkness. In the case of Terrako, when he went back in time, Lana, now being the guardian of time, sent Terrako to another timeline so that it did not affect the Breath of the Wild Timeline, She is also in love with Link, but she knows that she shouldn't interfere in the same way that her counterpart did, that's why she can't do anything when BOTW Link "dies" in Fort Hateno, but she could have helped by making the voice of the Master sword will tell Zelda to send Link to the shrine of resurrection to save him, and then 100 years later, he can defeat Ganon and save Hyrule one more.

This game is amazing. But why can't we change the control scheme?? In HR, we could change the controls to A being dash, B being weak attack, Y being strong attack, and X being special move. I have dumped well over 200 hours in HR using this control scheme. Being forced to use the AOC controls has been very irritating. I have used my special countless times when I'm actually trying to dash. Being able to change our controls should be added into the game ASAP.
