Thank you so much for the support and review! We spent a lot of time creating this case to make it the best, most aesthetically pleasing and easy-to-build in case on the market. We are starting off 2023 with a banger 🤩

Your designs utilize too much plastic and really limit creative build approaches. You've done a ton right but there are so many things to improve. I see the older NZXT design approach coming through with this case especially. I know you are trying to be extremely intentional about the build design of these cases, but that also means that every single one is going to look the same. This case could have supported side mounted 360mm radiators as well with only small changes to the PSU shroud that would not have affected the design language. Also, implemented a swappable verticle/horizontal 7 slot PCI-E backplate would have been a more useful approach. More costly for the initial tooling but it would have made any future cases release from you guys significantly more competitive with the rest of the market. All that being said, great second attempt at this design ethos. I hope to see your cases continue to improve.
@Turnkey_BM Жыл бұрын
@@TheJjjoj I would argue that any build done in any particular case looks nearly identical. Builds look different based on the parts you put in. Is it RGB, black out, water cooled, AIO, etc. There is plenty of room inside the case for pumps, panels or even a stuffed animal or toy if you want to get creative. Okay sure you could ask for the optional gpu mount or a 360 side radiator but as a Y60 owner the fact that this space is incorporated in the overall aesthetic in such a big way is a big step up in the overall design. As you said, it's a very intentional design and I think they've found a great way to get good airflow out of all glass panels.
@Turnkey_BM Жыл бұрын
I think it would be great to have an easier way to remove the vertical GPU mount while building in this case. Some kind of quick release perhaps? Also, if I'm using an air cooler for my CPU I would like to be able to have some wiggle room on the rear mounted fan to better line up the 2 push pull CPU fans in my Y60. All in all my Y60 looks sick af though and I'm loving the look of the Y4D. Can't wait to see what else you guys have for us!
@TheJjjoj Жыл бұрын
@@Turnkey_BM I think you are missing the point and this isn't the greatest argument to be honest. Hyte has used the need to maintain a particular aesthetic as an excuse to exclude features that would make their cases significantly more versatile and better overall. I've built in the Y60. It's fine. It's awesome to look at, but not amazing to touch. It could have been so awesome without any sacrifice to the actual aesthetic or theme. As a modder and a boutique builder who builds between 70-100 systems yearly, with 20-30 being custom loops, you are right to say that the general design of most cases remains the same, but many allow for nice creative freedom to really change the aesthetic. However, these Hyte cases don't really do that without significant modding. I'm not against that, but you need to at least allow for some freedom in the build approach and give better access to super basic things like radiator support and PCIE access. My customer was the one who was the most disappointed by the case, so you better believe I'm going to pass along the feedback.
@TheJjjoj Жыл бұрын
@@Turnkey_BM Are you referring to the riser or the GPU itself? One thing that I do on most vertically mounted GPUs is make a lever over the PCIE clip that releases the clip and slightly pushes the gpu up when pressed. Not everyone has a thin tool for this so it makes removing the gpu much easier. For the riser too, a quick release would br a great thing to implement.

as someone who loves airflow and the whole mesh design, i can't wait for hyte to design something along those lines :) glass is nice and all but having all the airflow in the world would help you target the other half (or whatever the percentage is) of the market
@Turnkey_BM Жыл бұрын
With the open mesh on the back panel lining up with 2 intake 140mm fans, you don't need a mesh front panel for good airflow. Same can be said with the intake on the bottom. The top and rear panel exhaust air giving the whole case a good flow. I'm sure however they'll do something more traditional and I'm also interested in seeing where they go with it. I love my Y60!

This is the first case I’ve seen from Hyte that I actually quite like. I thought the Y60 was a monstrosity of an enclosure. Also being a bit of a SFF fanatic myself, I was not too impressed with the offerings there either. This however I feel is a great approach to a mid tower case - particular with the side mounted radiator as opposed to front mounting which of course subtracts from gpu length. Really love that and although mid towers aren’t my thing, I have been planning to do a build for a friend in a mid tower. So this just shot to the top of my list along side the NZXT H5 Flow. Very cool

I love the design, but there are a few things I'd change/improve. 1. Put at least 1 thumb screw on at least just the glass side panel, if not both side panels. I know it's probably fine, but seeing the somewhat heavy tempered glass side panel only held on by a clip or whatever it is is kinda nerve-wracking to me, lol. I guess I'm just paranoid or old school, but I'm used to having captive thumb screws on the side panels. 2. Make the dimensions of the case ever-so-slightly bigger, and change the PCIe slot design at the back so we could have a rotatable full-height PCIe slot section and not just be forced to vertically mount the GPU. For one thing, not everyone likes the vertical mount, as some of the beefier aftermarket GPUs would still sit too close to the glass, the riser cable/card is just one more thing that could break/die, and also some cards just look better when horizontally mounted vs. vertically mounted. 3. Also adding to the reasons to make the dimensions slightly larger, you could add support for a 420mm (3x140mm) fan/rad setup in the top, as well as a third fan on the side if you made the PSU shroud slightly shorter.

Case looks pretty cool. I wonder what the temps of larger GPU's like a 4080 or 4090 would be like. Would it be pressing against the glass like the Y60? I'm excited for Hyte this year with some airflow cases to rival the 4000d.

Extremely limited front I/O. First thing 95% of buyers will do is remove and trash the fans (increases our purchase price as well). The cable management looks very tight. Love the look of the case overall but..unsure about the build process. And the lack of USB inputs is super lame.

Man, I want to like these Hyte cases but they just have so many weird issues, particularly for their sky high price points for the feature set and build quality. This one does seem better than the Y60 but that's not an extremely high bar. You buy these cases exclusively for their specific aesthetics. Lian Li, NZXT, Fractal, Phanteks, Be Quiet, and Corsair have way better current cases for the same or less money.
