Hyundai's port-injected engines were supremely well made and reliable, honestly even Toyota engines gave more trouble at the time. Delta was the 2JZ of little V6 Engines, able to do over 500hp with dual turbos on stock internals reliably. Which is nuts for an aluminium block. Wish I could say the same of Hyundai now.

Any source for the HP figures? I looked high and low but there are VERY few documented builds of the G6BAY doing that kind of power reliably. The one good build I've found is this one in Korea: kzbin.info/www/bejne/raDTfpuYh7Jjrpo I have a Sonata with this engine but it has a really slow slushbox 4 speed auto. Really wish I had Hi-Scan access

Apparently if you have an automatic in a trajet van you can put the engine in by removing the stuff on the wheel well side. But with the manual you can't because of the thickness of the clutch. With the manual you need to take it all out and come up from underneath. There's probably far less room under the hood of the trajet.

Typically the head gaskets are labeled LH for the left bank as you look from the transmission side. I noticed you put the RH gasket on the front of the engine, which is traditionally the LH side. Have you run into any issues from this?

I have the bolt holding toothed belt tensioning roller arm BROKEN a week ago. Number on challenge: how to extract the remainder part of the steel bolt from the aluminium block without taking out the whole engine from the vehicle. Number one question: are valves are still alive given the fact the motor didn't stalled or loss the power (only terrifying noise from wobbling toothed belt give me a sign to turn engine off. Number two question: given then fact that three turns of the inner thread for this bolt are destroyed, how many turns of the thread remain inside this hole and will it be enough to carry the load created by tensioning roller arm.

Hello Sir. Extract the broken bolt and then decide,the the worst case scenario after installing the new bolt add some steel putty around the bolt. To extract the bolt it is a challenge,try and get more excess by removing the radiator.

@15:23 how do I set the timing for the left head cams? Is it dot to dot like the right head cams? I got the right side put together like you said, but the left side (when it's dot to dot) causes the lobe to push the cam up to the point where I can't get the cam bearing to thread. Thanks in advance.

Colin timing belt in place ,with the gear on the cam mark should correspond to the marking on the cover mark,for the LEFT & the RIGHT cam shaft gear,then release your timing pin .watch the video from 15:00 🕒

@@collinbarrows1932 you want to contain oil inside the rocker cover assembly and the oil inside the cover flow through its oil gallery into the crank case,so ideally the flat surface facing the engine gear train and the oil seal lip towards the camshaft rocker cover mechanism.

You can ,but you need to measure and ensure the head hole match and there is no interference when the rocker shafts rotates .

Head bolts line up just fine. How should I check to see if is no interference with the rocker shaft? Also when it comes to setting timing, the marks on the timing chain gear should be even/flush with the top of the head, correct? Setting the marks like this is TDC, so then already having the pistons lined up to TDC, I'm good to start putting things back together, correct?

@@collinbarrows1932 please rotate a few rotations and verify there is no interference in the rocker chamber and inside the crank case,make sure your valves are not accidentally clashing with the piston crown,if all this is in place ,then your timing will be the same with no changes as the original timing belt set up.
