Nice, thanks for the review. Love Hyundai, I started selling them after 15 years selling high end Luxury brands. In 2010 the US Economy went to the dogs and so did Luxury car sales. Then I saw the 2010 Sonata, WOW!! I moved to Pugi Hyundai and sold Hyundai’s for the next 5 years. I’m retired from car sales now but still miss all the guys at Pugi. Still visit them regularly for service and on going friendship. I purchased my wife a Elantra Limited in 2015 and we have been very happy with it. I’ll be looking at a new Hyundai for myself in the next couple of years!!! Of course it will be a Hyundai!!👍🏻❤️ Keep up all the great reviews!!!

I have a 2012 Azera that is also like brand new. The appearance, inside and out, under the hood, and even under the car is not even 1% less than new... maybe .2%. This is an amazing car. I thought that if I could afford a new Azera it would be nice to have one shipped from S. Korea - but I can't. Other than the the very cool dash/instrument cluster and the other screens, the interior of the 2nd generation is as cool as the new 3rd gen. My 2012 is rated at 29 highway and I get 30-31 at around 70 mph. At 55-60 I get 34+ mpg -- compared to the one in this review at 37 mpg which is impressive. The 2012 is at 293 hp and, I believe, 255 lb ft of torque and does 0-60 in 6 seconds and 94-96 in the quarter mile at around 15 seconds. These numbers, to me, are impressive considering this isn't a sports car. The new one reviewed here is close in performance to the 2012 to 2017. Great cars! Are you in the U.S., CI?

@@AsianPetrolhead The problem in the US is that there is really no market for full sized mainstream FWD sedans. The domestic market has completely pulled out with the discontinuation of the current remodeled Chevy Impala after only one generation and the Ford Taurus. Even the Buick LaCrosse has been canceled in the US despite being considered entry level luxury with available AWD. Only the Toyota Avalon remains and the very slow selling Kia Cadenza. The Nissan Maxima is just mid-sized and smaller than the Altima despite being the flagship. The Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 are RWD and are almost 10 years old. That leaves the VW Arteon which like the LaCrosse is trying to be entry level luxury with available AWD as well as fastback design. Unless Hyundai/Kia add AWD to these vehicles, i don't see them gaining any traction, no pun intended, in the US market...

For everyone in the U.S. interested in the 2020 Azera/Grandeur, can we write a joint petition to Hyundai requesting they re-introduce the model? If they are worried about reception, Hyundai could do the pre-order with deposit arrangement so that interested buyers can show interest by putting down a deposit with their pre-order. The previous design of Azera was bland but this new one is fire. What are the differences between Kia and Hyundai cars in terms of nvh, comfort, driving dynamics and performance?
@BCO2164 жыл бұрын
@@Michael-kz5nc kia is nice, but fall behind in tech, if you're a tech head. Kia doesn't offer the bluelink type system that's easy to fall in love with. The companies do this on purpose to promote Hyundai as an upper end luxury brand to kia more sporty brand. Ride quality is about the same, but Hyundai upper class Genesis line ride quality is best over all because its luxury. Performance in the V6, V6tt and V8 are same motors and transmission. I've read Hyundai maybe tuned a little higher by not much at all, can't recall the number. I've always leaned more toward Hyundai because of the tech side, but the K5 and sorento in person are very beautiful cars with far more tech then previous. They've kept the price low by not adding some features and removing some plastics in certain area's like trunk henge covers.

I have an '08 Azera with nearly 250,000 miles on it. It still drives, rides and runs like new. Best car I've ever owned and I've owned BMW's and Cadillac's in addition to my share of Chevy's, including one Corvette. if I buy another sedan it will be either Hyundai Azera or Genesis. Hyundai is so far out in front of ALL the American car makers as well as the other Asian car makers that it is no longer a contest. As for the European makers, that BMW pretty much cured me from wanting another one. The only vehicle I've ever owned that cost me more, per mile, to own and operate was my Harley-Davidson Sportster.

I like the car but have always hated the NSX style shift buttons, they look like a cheap cost cutting addiction. having a solid nice looking shift knob, strong enough to rest your hand on, in metal and leather looks so much nicer. same with the fixaflat in place of a proper spare.
@AsianPetrolhead4 жыл бұрын

@@AsianPetrolhead hey thanks. It does give you some room but I don't mind giving up that little room for a nice looking strong gear shift knob and yes I guess for many it could be called hand rest and no look gear selector.😇

So are you pronouncing Hyundai as Yundai, or Hyundai as Hun-Day? Because I'm hearing both. Here in America, I've heard the older generation people pronounce it as Yundai, whereas the younger generation such as myself pronounce it Hun-Day. Would be great if you could clarify.
@AsianPetrolhead4 жыл бұрын
It's hard to write it for you. But it's like Hyundae. Thank you for tuning in and please do support us by subscribing. Thank you.
@OlJackBurton4 жыл бұрын
He's pronouncing it the way it's said in Korea and he's not changing it to make it more palatable for "American" ears and tongues the way the pronunciation of many foreign words (Korean, Spanish, Chinese, Italian, etc.) are considerably altered in the US and then virtually accepted as the "correct" pronunciation even though no one from those countries says them that way. I'll take a stab at it though. The Y is not silent and neither is the H. Think of the word "hue" or "humor" or "human". There is distinct h sound as well as a "y-ish" sound following in that word all in one syllable consonant cluster. Hyundai is similar except the u sound is a lot more like the u in fun/sun/ugly than the u in hue/true/blue or you don't say Hyoondai, which somehow is easier for many Americans to say, but somehow they can't say Hyuhndai? I'm just saying that particular consonant cluster sound (hy, although not spelled that way) actually exists in the English language. Also the dai isn't really pronounced like "day" or worse "die" (as some people also mispronounce) but more like the "dai" in the words "daily" or "dairy" or even "very" or "berry". You wouldn't say day-ly or day-ry or bay-ry. It's a shorter E vowel sound (but not too short like Ted or Ed or met) than the long vowel sound, kind of like the Spanish E , think of the words que or se (which are not pronounced like kay or say), which also often gets butchered. Again, this vowel sound also exists in the English language although the application (at the end of the word) is very uncommon. So i don't consider Hyundai particularly difficult to pronounce. But rather than waste time and energy trying to get people to say words correctly and still get it wrong (often it's just a matter of accent, which is often a matter of not having an available sound in one's common usage of a language, which really can't be corrected), it's just easier to use a "wrong" pronunciation as the common one. For instance if i were to pick up a Hyundai from the repair shop or car wash or from a valet, i wouldn't say Hyuhn-dai in most cases because the guy would probably just go "What?" And by that he wouldn't mean that he didn't hear me, because i would just repeat it again with the same result, lol. But that he didn't understand me. So i just say hun-day and probably he should get it right the first time.

Merry Christmas Charlie! That front fascia is whoa!, you definitely can't miss it that's for sure. Since Hyundai went balls out with the front, they should have dared to be different and continued the diamond theme design on the rest of the exterior, especially with the tail lamps, trim and some within the dash/cabin. A big No-no to reverse RPM.
