Been waiting since spring 2022 for my ultimate Ioniq 5 and have watched all your video. Your ‘to the point’ and very informative vlogs are excellent. I highly recommend them to anyone who is contemplating buying an Ioniq or any electric car for that matter. You’ll learn a lot. Finally got a 2023 Ioniq 5 this week (luxury trim as ultimate trim is a unicorn in Ontario Canada…I am 65 and don’t have years of waiting left…). Patience and regular visits to several Hyundai dealerships got me one. They are literally almost non-existant in this part of the country. But watching your video made me more adamant that I was getting one and I succeeded. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations! When I waited 9-10 months for mine, it was horrible. All those rumors revolving around missing parts and faulty chips, and Ioniq5s that accidentally got tossed into the water at the destination harbor or damaged by the crane, were stressing me out. It is an experience I do not want to repeat ever.

I have the long range all wheel drive version, very like this car, even knowing that it's not perfect. Since when I reserved it (in Canada) , price and subvention of all version was not decided. I choose this middle model, but if now I would buy it again, I would take the Ultimate too (Only 5k more). In my personal opinion about Ultimate, only downside is it come with 20 inch wheel, I prefer the 19 (Have better range).

@@MesoScale My opinion, ( rumors revolving around missing parts and faulty chips) it's about most of car industrie, not only related to EV car... About fear of EV car accident, you know the difference between an EV car fire and gazoline car fire? If you are still conscious, in EV car and if you buy red cross the emergency belt cutter that came with glass breaker (2 are placed in my car). In catastrophique accident, you have more chance to survive in EV car since if fire start in EV battery the fire is intense, yes, but you can run away after this begin. In gasoline car you have the chance the car explode ( I saw this happen in front of my eyes on highway) no chance at all to survive when this happen. Statistic I saw like 9 months ago, EV are or was more safe compared to gasoline one in death rate vs ratio. This without talking about Hydrogen, it's more explosive compared to gasoline. It's why I think EV car are more safe compared to the 2 others.

I have said this before and no one wanted to hear me. Hyundai never wanted to address. My issue was charging at the 46kwh rate at home. Always would get a thermal shutdown. Hyundai corporate was involved they couldnt figure it out. They had many techs look at it to come back with the cable from charge port to ICCU needed to be replaced. Nada didnt fix it. Hyundai should be embarrassed and I hope they have to recall every Ioniq 5 made. And also this isnt just the issue surrounding the ICCU.

Parts just came in so I should be picking it up this week. @@harrychu650 it's a very high consideration at this point. I know teslas are quite mature at this point but they are still lacking some key features that I use frequently in my i5. V2l, 800v architecture (which hopefully tesla has some faster charging in up coming models), physical buttons, easy change regen levels, and it just being another car on the road. Range, thanks credit, and reliability are definitely a top factor so it's something I've been considering. @@harrychu650Actually, dependability isn't a strong point of Tesla. Neither statistically nor from my own experience with a fleet of currently about a dozen EVs, about half of which are Teslas. I agree that Teslas have certain advantages over other EVs, but they are plagued with numerous issues, that differ from generation to generation and model to model except (thus far) a MIC M3 SR, which had no issues thus far, but is of limited usability due to its lack of a sensible boot. All other Teslas we have or had, suffered from multiple problems with drive units, door handles, wipers, headlights, water ingression, suspension and brake wear, etc, etc, none of which we experienced with our Hyundai and KIA EVs. Interestingly, use cases have changed over the years, the Hyundai products used to be better for the shorter range jobs and Tesla for long range driving, this is now exactly the other way round, the current generation Ioniq 5/KIA EV6 are better for long distance driving than the MY/M3, but the Teslas are great for the short range and off the motorway stuff.

This has happened to me several times sporadically between 40%-70%. I would think this would not be good for the integrated charge control unit.
