Thanks for taking the time to post the video, it is very nice of you. Personally I don't like the music but that is what my mute button is for. I would rather hear you talk and explain some things. I believe the oil filter cap holding the filter in underneath is a 27mm head, so you need a 27mm socket or you risk rounding it off trying to remove and tighten with an adjustable wrench. I am also sure that this car holds 5.5 qts of oil so I don't mind pouring in 5 qts, check for leaks, reattach shroud, take of ramps to be on level ground, then check oil level and top off as desired. Really as long as it is not at or below the "add" mark you will be okay. Just my 2c but still I am glad to see you did a video to help people. Have a good day!

Thank you THANK YOU for refraining from the usual long winded chatter and explaining for things that people already know. This video was perfectly informative and the music wasn't distracting, but actually kept the pace of the what you were doing. The text that overlayed the video had tips that are actual helpful. An alternative to the large socket on the filter cap, you could use a simple oil filter tool. Grip around the larger area of the filter cap. It gives you more leverage removing and reinstalling

Thanks for the video the graphics noting the socket size (10mm ) for the bottom valance was helpful maybe adding the socket size for the drain plug and filter housing would also help. It's a pain to change the Oil on the Genesis since you have to remove the two lower valance pieces I cut a opening in the valences to access the filter housing so I don't have to remove the lower valance just to change the oil. FYI it's 17mm the drain plug and 27mm for the oil filter housing. Don't think most people are gonna have a 27mm socket so good to know before you get started. over all good video well edited.

Mine is a 2014 and the owners manual calls for 6.2 qts of oil. I don't think that for the next year they would add that much more oil than what these guys used. Nice idea to make access to the filter, is it possible to make it a door type of entry ?

The drain and fill amount of oil for the 2014 3.8L V6 is actually 6.02 quarts, not 6.2 quarts. Not sure what the manual for 2012 says.

Is there something if the same on top of the motor? My genesis is leaking oil out the top of the motor out of a part that looks like that. Wondering what that is..

What year is yours. Older models might have the filter on the top of the engine.
