Great job with this review. Thanks. You've helped me make a decision. I've been toying with the quandary of either getting the GDi n-line for the turbo and extra BHP or the Premium for the extra mpg and comforts but super slow. Now that I've seen there's a 1.2l Premium, it's the perfect balance. The cabin looks the same as the GDi spec, it comes with the heated seats etc, plus Sat nav and the more refined 4 cylinder engine. Not only that but both cars are around the same price for a 2- 3 year old one. Better still, if I get the car from a Hyundai dealer they'll still give me a full 5 year warranty on it and 30 days to change my mind and swap it. Best of both worlds.... apart from the 13k outlay...

I have owned an i10 for 50,000 km and I’m generally happy with it. It has let me down twice, whereas the UP! I owned before covered 180,000 km without a problem. The UP! Had way better handling and steering but in every other respect, the i10 is better. Quieter, more comfortable and smoother.

I maybe the one person that complains, I have an I10 and it drives me nuts, trying to autocorrect lane changes all the time, even when indicators are on, then the lane management feature that beeps at the most random times, the messages that I am not putting my hands on the steering wheel, or the best one Yet, the car in front is pulling away (There was no car)... But my favorate still to date is the way the Front sensors get condensed very easily, and the rear parking camera gets road spray and never stays clean, so is practically unusable in Scotland in winter. On a positive note... The DAB radio is great, but I did have to buy hearing aids to hear it!

Buyers of NEW cars be careful - The software installed in the latest version of Hyundai i10 to implement Intelligent Speed Limit Assist is unable to recognise the UK national speed limit sign. This means drivers of the new i10 get repeated audible speed limit warnings (very annoying and distracting) when they drive on a road where the national speed limit applies (Motorway, dual carriageway or single carriageway) as the car does not recognise the national speed limit sign and will assume the previous speed limit sign still applies (e.g. 30 / 40 or 50 mph). My Hyundai dealership has requested a software update from Hyundai but they do not know when this will be received (nor did the dealership warn me about the problem before I bought my new car). Carparks with speed limits (5 or 10mph) are also a BIG problem as there is normally no sign when you exit the carpark so the car still thinks the 5/ 10mph speed limit applies on the road. You then get an audible speed limit warning every time the car exceeds 5/10mph until the camera sees a new speed limit sign. This can be several miles later if the carpark is located within a 30mph zone. If there are multiple sets of traffic lights / roundabouts before the new speed limit sign the driver will get repeated warnings every time the car exceeds 5/ 10mph even though the correct speed limit is 30mph. I have to drive 2.5 miles with over 20 audible speed limit warnings before the car's camera sees another speed sign and reverts to the correct speed limit. This is extremely distracting and spoils what would otherwise be a great little car. Until this is resolved by Hyundai I would buy an older model - not a 2023 model.
@BuckleUpShow Жыл бұрын
If it’s such an issue for owners, they should be turning the system off when they start the car until Hyundai fixes it.

When do you actually need to , or get the opportunity to , max out your 0 to 60 time in city or town driving. Even when you are accelerating onto a motorway you are already up to 50 before you get on to it , so what is this obsession with 0 to 60. Probably showing my age , but I drove a VW t3 van with wife and 5 kids for 18 years. No problem at all. Got rid of it in 2008 and just recently checked its 0 to 60 time. 22 seconeds , so this hyundai baby ought to suit me fine as a pensioner.

Speed Limit Assist on this car is FAR TOO intrusive and poorly calibrated. I had a day with this as a courtesy car whilst my Ioniq Hybrid was being serviced and I COULD NOT WAIT to hand the damn thing back. Sure, there's a lot of nice features which have bled in from higher spec Hyundai models, but I'd definitely be looking at the many other cars in it's class before settling for the i10. Just being honest.
@BuckleUpShow11 ай бұрын
Then I have bad news. It’s a legal requirement for all new cars and they’re all equally rubbish systems. Right now, you can still turn these systems off, but there is talk of stopping that work around from 2025.
@donnietobasco979111 ай бұрын
@@BuckleUpShow I think "market forces" will ultimately have the louder and more influential say, should these systems become a negative feature for the consumer. As things currently stand, I LOVE having speed limit graphics on my sat-nav and dash, and I've become quite adept at using cruise-control and setting speed-limit "beeps" in order to assist me, but this has been an organic process wherein I've actually CHOSEN to make use of this tech and have now integrated it into my regular driving habits. The system I experienced on the i10 was atrocious however. As another poster on here also experienced, it was jammed on 20 mph and could not recognise any signage to the contrary. Personally, I think it was because this model had no built-in sat nav, which in higher specced systems, works alongside sign recognition in order give the driver the appropriate display. Let's just say there will be lots more work needed to make these systems operate smoothly across the board, and that legislation or not, any car which develops a reputation for having a BAD system, will suffer heavily at the dealerships once word gets out.
