Absolutely love this car. Owned one for 6 months now and can't wait to drive it everyday. A real head turner both in looks and stunning exhaust sound. Forget the badge and go test drive one. In 6 months I haven't seen another fastback n on the roads. Phantom black with the red trim looks classy

I have the hatchback version of this car, if anyone is interested in more details on the mpg you're likely to get. On a 300 mile motorway journey I got 36mpg with some time stuck in traffic so if that's your main usage you can expect similar to that even in N or custom mode. I'm a pizza delivery guy and do loads of short journeys mixed with some dual carriageway driving and over 6500 miles have averaged 26mpg.

Great video! I purchased a pre loved one in Dark Knight colour almost 12 months ago. Coming from an alfa it was a difficult decision lol (I've had a few euro cars)... i think i agonised over it for a few weeks. In the end i grabbed it and love it. Yes some things in my son's 2008 vw jetta are still better and some things in my old 147 are better... But this is a great car. It does bring a smile to my face and like you said ... Im happy when we are out of milk😅 I'm kind of over the badge now 😂😂..... My neighbours still shun it but they do like the sound of it. It's definitely a car to recommend... If you can get over the badge!

@@Rocky0Road That quite doesn't make sense then as you can't get the N as a diesel.

Caught site of i30 fastback and liked the lines. Is there a 2.0 litre normally aspirated fastback engine version where the user doesn't require 0 - 60 mph in 6 secs but likes the idea of a lower insurance rating and more usability and less engine stress.
@CarObsession3 жыл бұрын
Hi Robin, thanks for watching, and thanks for the comment. This car is not available with a naturally aspirated engine and to be honest, not many cars nowadays are as turbocharged cars are more efficient.
@robinwas-miles96863 жыл бұрын
Normally aspirated engines would be the choice over turbos for long term reliability. And the added cost to replace a turbo - reckoned to be around 70000 mls. Cam chain drive vs regular belt drive changes and cost to gain more energy efficiency is another example where sensible durability might be favoured over pure performance. These factors must be considered for second hand price and potential market buyers. The i30 looks should appeal to both young and old as its a good looking medium size five door hatchback once you get past the unremarkable interior design - especially now that 5 door SUVs are the dominant and fashionable frumpy alternative.
@phil84374 жыл бұрын
This is a very good car. Far better than any over rated Golf. Reasons: better reliability, more standard kit for the money, better to drive and no skeletons in the cupboard ie DIESELGATE.

Interior quality is overrated. Sure nice materials are nice but who is going to touch the "touchpoints" of their car 24/? Basically nobody. I touch them when i clean them and that's about it. All other points i always put my hands on are of good enough quality for the 3 seconds i am touching them.
@CarObsession4 жыл бұрын
I disagree. Yes, you are right, you're not going to spend much time actually touching the materials, but if the interior quality is overrated, why would manufacturers spend millions trying to get theirs as good as possible??? Thanks for watching.
@Enforcer_WJDE4 жыл бұрын
@@CarObsession The basic materials are good enough but of you look at some reviewers they make it look as if plastic is a nogo and everything has to be soft touch. We all know how much that will cost, just look at the expensive cars where it's done ad absurdum. Good materials are ok to a degree. Everything else imo is just luxury and you will pay for it. Nowadays the interiors even of cheaper cars are ages away from back then. You really have to buy the most basic model of a car to get a crappy interior. Hell even the almost base 2020 i10 i drove a few months ago had a good interior.
@CarObsession4 жыл бұрын
@@Enforcer_WJDE You make a fair point, I can't really argue with that. I have a Mk2 SEAT Leon Cupra and the dash is mostly horrid. It's caked in cheap plastics, and you know what? It doesn't really bother me much.
@eincutr2 жыл бұрын
@@CarObsession It's mostly about perceived quality and it makes you feel good about yourself, about the car you bought. It sounds/looks/feels good when you look around, it's cosy, it's always nice. People who say they dont like a high quality interior are liars - or they are obsessing about reliability of electronics, maintenance and wear of the materials. Of course i'd love to drive a rolls royce that costs more than my house and feel like I could live in it. But I'd rather have a cheap interior and a more enjoyable car to drive. It's about priorities :)
