Hyundai I30N Key Fob Battery Replacement - DIY

This video walks you through how to replace the button battery on your I30N Key Fob when the dreaded low battery warning presents itself.
This warning should only appear after a few years of use and the process is relatively easy if you work nice and slowly.
Ideally having a Mobile Phone repair kit is the optimal equipment option however if you can get your hands on a guitar pick then you can achieve the same result.
Hopefully this video gives an insight into how to replace the battery (CR2032) and you can make the choice to change it yourself or let your dealer/locksmith replace it for you.

Good video. Although you don't actually need a guitar pic or anything similar to prize open the shell. There's a shallow slot adjacent to the emergency key holder which can accept a flat screwdriver blade ( the shorter the screwdriver the better). If you insert a wide enough screwdriver and turn anticlockwise gently, the case starts to come apart easily and then you can work the blade around to complete the separation like you showed - no force necessary.

Hi, I changed the battery on my i30n smart key fob, and the buttons wont lock or unlock the car anymore (does light up when pressed). Car starts fine though. Any thoughts?

Maybe check to see if the button pad is correctly seated in the key fob, guessing it may not be seated correctly so when you press the buttons it isn't a full press... Hopefully that solves it.

There's literally a little hole that fits a flat head screw driver. Very easy to pop open. Don't listen to this video no knives or bloody guitar picks

@antho22wateva use whatever fits in there, at times the metal of the screwdriver can damage the plastic of the remote so using a softer material (e.g. plastic) will protect the remote from damage. Have a great day! 😁
