I agree, I always plug in my phone for CarPlay on trips. It’s really not that big of a deal to me.

Great review. I drive an Ioniq 5 Limited, and used to drive a Genesis GV70 Sports Prestige that had all of the GV60’s luxury features and a lot more. So I was particularly interested in the differences. The interior sounds like the biggest difference that would matter to me. While the massage seats, which were in the GV70 and are in the GV60 were no shiatsu massages, they were still really nice in long drives, and I do miss that. The cameras that spot speed bumps and adjust the suspension we’re magic on the GV70 with the 21” sports wheels. Made driving on bumpy roads a non-issue, yet kept the handling really sporty. I don’t have an issue though with bumpiness with the Ioniq 5 Limited and it’s 20” wheels. I wish it handled as well as the GV70, but neither it, nor the GV60 does due to their sheer weight. The one major downside is the lack of HDA2. My GV70 was one of the last before Genesis started shipping the same trim with HDA 1, so my Ioniq is my 2nd car with HDA2. This is one area where I disagree with you a bit. My wife’s Kia Sorento PHEV has Kia’s equivalent of HDA1, and there are several differences that are no immediately obvious, but do make a big difference, aside from the overtaking ability. One example is that the HDA2 not only tells you if there is a car in your blind spot, it warns you if one will shortly be based on how it’s driving. It does so on the HUD, making it even more useful. It’s ability to keep you further away from large trucks on the lanes next to you as opposed to Tesla’s pulling you closer to those same trucks, and HDA 1 doing neither; is really nice. There are several other features like that. In my case, I actually enjoy how cautious it is in doing automatic Lane changes. It does them slowly, but surely. The Tesla Model Y I drove, after I tried FSD for a month, was way more aggressive than most human drivers are when moving lanes. Either way, a part of me is tempted to see if I could get more than what I paid for the Limited, from Carvana, and then get the GV60, but not in performance trim, just to get the luxury interior. But I really prefer the looks of the Ioniq 5 a lot exterior wise. Thanks again for a great and detailed video.

You always do great reviews, especially for the GV60. Kind of disappointing to hear that you got rid of it in less than a year. For the model Y no less. Hope you are enjoying it. I had one. Would never go back. I have the GV60 now.

Hello from Montreal Dave! Love your style! I have ordered a GV60 here in Canada for my wife, so I am pleased to hear all the details. I am also waiting for my Rivian R1S which is supposed to land here next spring….fingers crossed as it will be more than 3 years in the waiting. I knew little about EVS until I started listening to Kyle’s channel and have since added your’s to my subscription. You are both doing an awesome job! Thanks!

Hello again Dave , well I took delivery of my GV 60 after driving the performance and the advance being there was so little difference in the car I took the advance , here in Canada the interior is the same the beautiful quilted letter seats the wheels are different but to be honest I like the look of the advance wheels better plus easier to clean. I admit the boost mode is like getting hit in the chest with a flat shovel but where are you every going to use it, diving in the comfort mode I really could not tell the difference. You mentioned the extra buttons on the passenger seat I have found a very good use for them my Mum is 94 so I am able to adjust her seat :) so far the only thing I was say could be improved if the center console I wish it was deeper , also the sliding feature on the Ioniq5 would have been very nice as its quite hard to get into the bottom part from the front. All in all this is an amazing car it drives and handles very well , here in Canada this car cost me $85K Canadian there are no rebates as they are over $65K this car was an unwanted order which the dealership bought back and were abler to resell as here in Canada canceled orders have to be sent back to Genesis . Thanks great video I learnt quite a few things from it.

It’s funny, I have the GV80 and the only issue with it is the gas mileage. Just like the Electrified Gv60 as you say, with the range. I love your new channel. Been watching Kyle, but I am definitely more your generation so I can identify. Looking forward to getting our first EV and who knows, maybe it’ll be a Genesis:)

Great video and content Dave. Watched it from beginning to end. If you were in the market and trying to decide between a Tesla model Y long range versus the GV 60 which one would you pick? I want to know because my model Y delivery is coming up in August and I’m trying to see if I can even get a GV 60 in the same timeframe. I would only consider the advanced trim not the performance trim for the G.V. 60

@@Mykidsarethebest.223 haptic = vibration. Can be installed on the steering wheel or on fake buttons so when you push them, there is feedback that you “pushed” the button. Cell phones have it. Nothing super fancy but quite effective

Intelligent Speed Limit Assist is activated by using HDA and setting the speed to the current speed limit. The set speed indicator will turn green. When activated, the car will use both GPS and the front camera to detect speed limit changes and adjust the set speed automatically. In addition, no matter what speed you set, the car will detect tight curves and slow the car down to take the curve safely.
@dconner92 жыл бұрын
Great context… thanks! Now I know why the car was slowing down around the curves while I was on the Merritt Parkway while using ADAS

Hi did you buy into extended warranty for both the ionic & genesis & how much did it cost. What model do you recommend when it comes to single or dual motors. I was thinking about the ionic 5 sel model but I do love the extra luxury of the Genesis because I’ve driven Benz’s the last 19 years. I have the 350 GL blue tech but it’s been a pain to deal with all the repairs and the height diesel fuel $$. I don’t want to spend over 60k to 70k for a car anymore. I saw the ionic and I liked how it looks but I don’t know if I need one that’s AWD that I prefer & dual motor ?
@dconner92 жыл бұрын
I never ever buy extended warranties on anything. I self insure out of warranty items always. GV60 is definitely more premium imho than the IONIQ 5. But they are both great. You can’t get a RWD GV60 in the US yet, but they are available in the IONIQ 5’s. I have driven the RWD and it was actually quite peppy. Best of luck picking the model you want, and then, sourcing it. Supply is tight/tough out there!

I believe the Intelligent Speed has to do with the vehicle's ability to read the posted speed limit and adjust its speed accordingly.

UK customer picking up my GV60 Sports Plus (read performance) next month. Enjoying watching this, the interior does look beautiful. More than slightly annoying that here, alot of those features are all optional extras, even at the £66k price point! Seriously Genesis, you want to crack the UK market and differentiate yourself as premium Hyundai etc give us the bells and whistles! If I'd have specced one to USA / AUS spec, it would have been well over £70k 😳
@fraserreddick88282 жыл бұрын
Yes, fully loaded ( which is what I would get apart from the digital wing mirrors), the Sport is about £65000 and the Sport Plus is £75000. Given that the Sport is the same performance/motor setup as the AWD Ioniq 5 and EV6, that's a £10000 premium then another £10000 for the bigger front motor, 21" wheels and maybe a couple of other bits you can't spec in the lower models. I am sticking with my EV6 (which should arrive any time now) which is about £53000 fully loaded (since I ordered it before recent price rises).

Your review is very cosmetic. need more techical info. 1. Charge capacity, heating method for interior (this affects range in colder climates), avialibilty of supercharges, and usable KWHr of the battery,rather than the bragging numbers that the manufacturer supplies to attract sales.

Nice car and some good benefits over the Ioniq 5 and EV6 but the price difference in the UK is too much for me. The exterior is not for me either - a bit too round and soft for my taste, whereas the Ioniq 5 is very edgy and the EV6 is dynamic and more aggressive. I suspect the GV60 will appeal more to a lot of female drivers and those closer to retirement age while the other 2 maybe skew a bit younger and predominantly male.
