My first side hustle was in like 4th grade, I learned how to knit and made bracelets with a multicolored purple yarn I sold them for $5 and every girl in my grade and a bunch of girls in the grade above and below me bought one too! I think they were really popular because I went to a strict Catholic elementary school with a one bracelet dress code policy and the bracelets I made were kinda thick, they were like a half inch wide flat band so if we could only wear one bracelet, we wanted to wear a bigger one😂 Since they were knitted, they were soft and super comfortable and they would never fall off while playing! I went to a super small school with only 20 kids per grade but I still probably made like $100

In my school district they did the catalog for up to middle school. The chocolate started in high school for the clubs that you joined. I stopped caring bout selling the most when STUCO head lady decided that the club i was in was making too much money and decided to turn communist take all the money our club had made and redistribute it to all other clubs. That year we had finally earned enough to hire 2 busses for our summer trip and take about 120 people on a week long field trip, after that happened we could only afford 1 bus n only 40 people in the club got to go.

The children from Guatemala were most likely from the illegal immigrants that keep coming over n the company hired them so that they wouldn’t have to pay as much n they couldn’t do anything if they got hurt in the job, cause the company says that amputation of limbs is a regular hazard in that work environment.

I worked at 12, it was considered okay if something was family owned. Still, I had to ask for money from my parents… Who basically kept my pay. I pretty much saw none of that! I will say that I loved working, I enjoyed learning about other people in a structured environment. It also gave me a greater appreciation for money. I could look at some thing on the menu I think OK well that cost X amount of hours of work.

Teaching kids of 12 to build Hyundai cars is real character building. Of course they should still go to school, but they'll already have more skills than their peers. Not supporting sweat shops, but kids who are paid for their work are happy doing the jobs. It's when they're forced to do it and taken out of school to work full time that I am completely against it.

When I was 16 I worked a 40 hour job at a chicken plant while being a full time high school. The job involved animal cruelty but at the time I thought it was normal to treat the animals like that. I was the oldest teenager working along side 13, 14, and 15 year old kids that were undocumented citizens. Overall, we were happy to be given a chance to work and help our families even though the adults we worked with were old enough to be our parents (40s and 50s). Looking back I’m glad that in the U.S. if you look hard enough there are jobs that allow ages from 13 to even 60+ to work in hard labor jobs so that we can support our families. Although the conditions of the job may be a bit cruel we were all thankful for the opportunity to work. Also for your information the chickens you buy from grocery stores are killed by either being boiled alive to death or because a worker ripped its head off with their bare hands then let the chicken be processed as usual.

I didn’t want the kids to come back lolol so I’d give them the money + some extra and I’d be like, _”I have food allergies so just go get yaself somethin nice and put me down, but you don’t have to bring the [blank] (whatever it was)”_ that shit was expensive too! Felt so bad when I’d see their sheets with like one name/address on it lol. Always for like sports teams and shit too! So i felt like it was a good cause ♥️

I was 10 and I worked out in the fields and I made money, I did not see anything bad about it. I was a 10yo with like 200-300 bucks a month in the summer. so yeah I loved working but they did not let me anymore . My 11 yo said she wants to sell candy bars at school I am like heck yes, I bought her 3 boxes of candy bars and snacks she sells them out her back pack. I am ok with that. My 6yo sold all her school supplies and she charged 50 cents per pencil I was so mad at her and she told me they always want to borrow my pencils and never give em back so I just decided to sell them.

my first side hustle making lil money was what i called “trading” 😂 literally traded stuff with my neighbors as kids , so i got new stuff every time. from games to marbles to pokémon cards to anythin😂😂 i traded stuff up til i got money for it, basically selling either my old stuff i had for their money aka their savings 💰 or i’ll get their toy or item i traded for and sell to other neighbors across street. one time this kid living across from me wanted a toy and something else and grabbed all his savings and he doesn’t know how to count money so, he thought $20, $5 counted as $1,😂😂 so i went along with it and ended up “trading” and made like $60-$75 💵 from his savings from trading 😭🤣🤣🤣. looking back, i for sure hustled and finessed tf outta lil bro, literally a side hustle💀 but fr i traded hella shit, lots of toys, DS games, and silly bands, even gotten an iPod Nano before. i’d say in total before i moved, i probably made atleast a good $300 and as a kid😂😂🤝 good ass times man 😭💯

They were talking about jobs they did when they were that young and younger right after that, same as kids working a lemonade stand. I've seen kids doing jobs on a farm learning life skills that young. It's not like they were talking sex work. If you've really been subbed for over a decade you'd think you would have learned to take a joke by now.
