Hyundai Kia "Check BSD system " - blind spot error - possible fix

Try this if you get an BSD error and the blind spot system radar stops working. Calibrating a sensor that is not aligned will not work and the dealership will say you need to replace it for thousands (there's two of them)

I have a 2018 kia optima and the dealership told me labor $150 and $350 for each sensor 😳 I said well it's not life threatening so ✌🏾 and walked out. I'm just tired of looking at all these lights on my dash and came here to figure out how to disconnect or reset it 🤷🏾‍♀️.

UPDATE : BSD warning may also be caused by dirty front bumper radar sensor - especially when driving in snow/slush, and also if you have a trailer hitch, the harness may cause the rear radars to throw and error - try moving/relocating the harness The system can get misaligned when your car is bumped in a parking lot, or when you hit a large pothole or a curb - the shock will slightly move the sensor bracket - don't force, move it gently www.hyundai-forums.com/threads/check-bsd-system-warning.472586/page-2

Thank you so much for this wonderful information. I'm a 2018 KIA Soul Proclaim owner that's been going through this issue. And the ABS light comes on now too. KIA has said it's a bad sensor on the passenger rear wheel but that the issue could be coming from as far away as the engine..... At least $210+ just to begin looking. I'm at 45,000M / 4 years so should have warranty left I would think. 🤔

Good question. I wonder if it can actually be related to the ABS issue as the BSD system may also use information related to ABS. I would suggest asking more on forums about this issue

I have Hyundai Elantra sel with 44 thousand miles and have triangle with line on dashboard. When I turn on it displays system check and displays left rear blind spot sensor. Does that mean something wrong with left rear sensor or is it just letting me know one of the sensors in general is not working? Like you say there is no evidence of collision or damage on all of car. Washed and dried all car but didn't help at all. Thanks for the video any feedback appreciated

Make sure rear sensors are not wet or dirty. Rear sensor may have been pushed back - not flush with the bumper - if a car bumps you in a parking lot. May also see if the sensor sticker is peeling. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3WzaZtmm5ikaqM

Mine stopped working (ABS also)on 2018 sonata, said bad ABS sensor, it killed both systems!😲😲

To be honest nobody has four grand to do this how do centers go just bad you know my sensor was fine and then all of a sudden it just went off and then it came back on again and then you know obviously it’s not broken but Hyundai just doesn’t even want to deal with it and they can even find out what was wrong with my daughter‘s brand-new car after six tries until I called corporate so I mean they should’ve recalibrated my car and push the sensors in I mean I could care less about having them because I am my head to look for traffic anyways but there should be able to take that morning light off of your dashboard because of them I don’t think it’s fair that that comes on and I asked them to remove the sensors and if it would go off and they said no so I don’t know if they’re lying or you know how can it work one day and not work the next . So if there’s anybody out there that can help me I’m a single mom with two kids and I really need some ideas because I have to work and this is a big impact on my car so please message me leave me a response and if anybody’s had any luck with like messing with them yourself I have a 2017 Hyundai Alantra that I’ve noticed a lot of people but having issues with the sensors and sometimes I think they should be a recall because of what’s going on
