Interesting comments about the 3rd row. I watched Richard Berry's review done around the same time as yours and he's 191cm tall (nearly 6' 3") and he demonstrated he could sit in the front row, second row and third row without adjusting the seat positions for his height i.e. he says you can fit 3 x 190cm people simultaneously front to back--not that you would want to travel far like this in the third row. This would make this vehicle probably best in class for seating I would have thought.

I swapped from a Kluger to a 2018 model SF. Kluger is a better car by a long shot. SF gets very hot inside on hot Australian summer days.

I keep wondering why none started to review for a minute how the lighting on road works, in city/highway, its specifications, with so much of upgrades happening in just lighting alone.

The reveiwer is looking at the car from a 'user family friendly' perspective'. There are ample more technical reviews, and most likely on this channel. Savageese (US) have longer reveiws and very detailed thougj some spec levels for some cars are redundant for Oz. Chasing Cars also do good reveiws. And then there is Autoexperttv , which can be teaty out times and the kids ears should be no where in range ☺

When you had the kids in the back did you use carseats? At ages 4 & 6 they should be in suitable restraints. It concerns me because I know that third row anchor points isn't a standard therefore, although a novelty for your kids, having young children in the back like suggested is actually illegal and unsafe.
@carsguide6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your concern, my children’s safety is my first priority when driving and they are now both big enough to be in booster seats, so don’t need the anchor points. Many thanks for writing in! Nedahl
@renaynielsen79836 жыл бұрын
Although I understand what you're saying. Unless your children are very tall or over 8 (which you specifically say in the video their ages) then they should be in a harnessed child restraint. Legally you cannot have your child of 4 years in a booster that isn't anchored. It's Australian law. Just saying what you did was either illegal or false advertising. 💁
@waynewhite63555 жыл бұрын
Renay Nielsen, you are spot on and you’d think a person of her standing in this type of review would know the law of the land or in this case the law of the road and not make false excuses either. Come on do the right think and admit you mistake.
@waynewhite63555 жыл бұрын
CarsGuide, ah no they are not. I think you need to check on the laws regarding child restraint and the age limits and their seating requirements by the LAW!!

She's so tiny, the Santa Fe isn't that much bigger than the Tucson. Makes the thumbnail make the car look so much bigger lol. Makes it harder to visualize a normal person size fit for comparison. Other reviewers give a more detailed review and most recommend this above the CX7 or CX9 or the Kluger that she mentions.

Your review on the NEW Hyundai Santa Fe regarding the 3rd row of seats is faulty and it appears that you broke the law as well. You said your children are aged 4 and 6 insisted sitting in the 3rd row all week. You should know (being a car reviewer in Australia for Australians) that children that age are not permitted to ride in 3rd row of seats in this vehicle and many others, as there are no child restraint anchor points. Children must be seated in some type of child restrain seat or fixed booster until at least the age of 7 and considering the 3rd row does not have these anchor points, they are only found on the 2nd row of seats. Perhaps you should do a retraction and make sure your children are seated in a motor vehicle correctly in the future at all times. Cheers.
@thanhvuong21065 жыл бұрын
Wayne White check this link: www.childcarseats.com.au/legal-requirements. Children above 4 only need to be on an approved booster. Does not mention it need to be "fixed".

The biggest letdown of this very good SUV is its engine. Not because it’s a diesel one, but because I think it lacks the power and oomph to move such a juggernaut at a decent speed to make the ride enjoyable on par with the rest of the vehicle. Though it’s not a sport car, but a stronger engine would’ve done this car a big service.
@AKA0016 жыл бұрын
The 2.2 CRDI engine is plenty powerful with 147kw on tap with 440nm torque. Yes the Kluger has more power, but significantly less torque, only 350nm at 4500rpm, whereas the Santa Fe has full torque at 1750rpm. Compare consumption and leaves the Kluger AND the CX9 for dead. 5 to 6 litres to a 100km are proven on country drives. Compared to other diesels, Pajero Sport and Fortuner, the Santa Fe beats it.only the Everest is more powerful, but it’s also $20k more expensive and ugly. I have a 2014 model and it can be quick off the line, if you want to, running acceleration is superb.
