Does the orange safety plug come with the fuse already inside or do you have to buy it separately? I went to Kia and brought just the fuse and put it inside my old orange safety plug.

Hi! Great video! I own a 2015 Sonata hybrid, bought new, now has almost 200,000 km. I have had somewhat the same issue. In my case, a few times while slowing down to a red light the death message has appeared with the chimes "Check charging system". I simpy stop, restart the car and all comes back to normal, except for the "Check Engine" light displayed on the dashboard. A few hours later after driving around town and switching the car on/off a few times, the "Check Engine" light disappears. I've changed the safety plug in the past, now I wonder if it probably is another issue. What's really annoying, is that I take the car to service, and no errors are shown, so it's kind of difficult to "recreate" the issue. I've read that there was a change in the safety plug rating. The factory setting was 125A, and they've changed to 150A. Do you have any feedback on that? Just subbed!

Check and test the 12volt battery life first. If it doesnt have a 12volt battery seperately, then its bulit in with the hybrid battery. The message “check charging system”, i think this model is equipped with electric alternator for hybrid. For a mechanic shop to diagnose the problem, the check engine light must be on to read the exact codes, and diagnose whats exactly wrong with it. For the safety plug, i would use the same amperage of what the manufacture require, different amperage could messes up the the factory programming.

Hey, great video! I have a backup car, a 2014 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, and it won’t start, but it starts when I jump-start it. Does that mean my battery is dead, or could it be the 12V battery? Could you make a video on how to replace the battery in the trunk?

If you jump it and it start, the normal 12v battery is bad.

I replaced the hev safety plug fuse but it still doesn't work. I opened up the orange plug and took the fuse out itself and went to the Kia dealership and paid $60 for a new fuse. But It still doesn't start. Should I replace the entire part including getting and new orange safety plug as well? I've already bought and replaced with a new battery and fuse for the positive terminal? I need help

He mentioned the Power Relay Assembly in two parts of the video. I think that is the problem with my 2015 Sonata Hybrid Limited. Nothing works or lights-up except the backlight for the start button when I press it.
