Replace the bulbs with a cooler temp bulb. I changed mine in my 2012 Sonata to 1157's and they are working great and don't get as hot.

Had the same issue, 2012 sonata limited. Changed factory wiring harness to aftermarket then replaced bulbs with LEDs....hasn't failed since....going on 2 years since replaced 😃

The back covering cap to access the housing on a 2016 Sonata is a nightmare to open (they seem to vary) and the space is very tight. Here's my question, this video sees to imply that the caps do not need to be replaced? I'd like an opinion from the manufacturer on that. Personally, I'd be fine with leaving them off for easier access. But, they were probably intended to be closed for a reason? Such as condensation, etc. The stock halogen low beams are a disgrace for a 2016 auto. Yellow and dim, low beam lens is too restrictive in the headlight housing. I replaced my low beams with new and brighter halogens. An absolute waste of time. Almost no change. No fog lights as standard equipment, to help visibility. Do check your headlight aim, as well. That's an easy and free fix. Newer LEDs seem to be closer in design to the halogens and are truly "Plug and Play". And you can put the caps back on as probably intended? I will try LEDs for safety on my low beams. High beams too, if all works out.
