I'm the owner of this Sonata. For clarity....The only reason I kept the car was that a brand new engine was warrantied into it at 100k. In hindsight I should have sold it immediately after the engine instal. As far as the shotgun approach to repair....I bought what was cheap enough and easy enough to do, I spent less than $100 on the parts I knew I could get to In my driveway hoping I could catch an easy fix. Money wasted...yup . Once I dug in all signs were leading away from easy... The trunk was cleared and shop vaced just as a show of respect for a fellow working man. These guys were great...couldnt be happier....car has been inspected and sold.

I am 67 years old and have been a "shade tree" mechanic since I was 7 years old. I found an old rusty push mower in the woods, discarded. I took it home, fixed it and started mowing yards for $2.00 per. It was quite an increase from turning in empty pop bottles for .02c deposit. LOL Love watching the blow-by-blow troubleshooting here on this channel.

You sir, are an amazing diagnostic technician! It’s just astounding that you can find these problems when others can’t. No matter if it’s physical (environmental), electrical or mechanical! The only thing I cannot discern from these videos is how much time you take to just find the problem! No doubt, you are a God send to your community, no matter what you charge them! In my 70 years, I have only come across TWO auto technicians with your knowledge and ethics, but they sadly, are long gone. Keep it up Eric for a few more years. Then either retire to the front office or out of the industry for good, before you are afflicted with inevitable debilitating arthritis in the arms and hands like my brother. He was also an ethical master mechanic for the last 55 years or so and is suffering greatly from arthritis today!

Don't put that off, Guy. Colon cancer is one of the more common cancers and it's incredibly easy to screen for and remove early before you have any worries of metastasis. Yeah, the bowel prep sucks, I know. I did it twice. It's only for a day and if you're fine you get to chill for ~5 years. If you've got precancerous polyps or if you actually have cancer right now, you'll save your own life and get many more years with your family.
