Hyundai Tucson EGR Solenoid Test Pt3

Good video well done, this is the same EGR as on my Sportage 2008 Diesel. Mine stuck the symptoms were it would start then stop straight away. If I unplugged the EGR solenoid the engine would start and run but not very well. What I did find is that by removing just the solenoid top and using WD40 and carb cleaner sprayed onto the valve I could gently tap it down (it was stuck at the top). Once down another spray and it was possible to get a small spanner on the end of the valve shaft (it has two flats on it) and by rotating it the valve comes back up under spring pressure. More spray tap down again and spin back up, repeated a couple of times and it freed right off. Seems to be working OK so far and only took about 30mins. Once again thanks for making the video.

If the EGR passes the test, why you change it with a new one?

The solenoid works it is the valve below it that it controls that is the problem it gets gummed up and sticks, it can be cleaned sometimes to get it to work again it should push down under finger pressure and pop backup by spring pressure, they can get stuck solid by carbon deposits.
