Yeah I wouldn't trust the stock spring losing tension like that. You are begging for nosedives and jams keeping the same spring with that bass plate.

There would be no way in heck I would carry this as an EDC if I just replaced the base plate and not install a longer spring. The strong tension on those Shield magazine Springs contribute to their reliability and that base plate for sure is causing that stock spring to lose a heck of a lot of tension. That's how you get a lot of failures to feed.

Just bought this pre assembled. but only 9 fit . If i put 10 it will not go into the gun. Did i get a dud ??

Sorry to say but it seems like you got a lemon. Either that or the person who assembled it did it incorrectly. I would say follow my video backwards, dissemble it and see if there are any changes or errors. With this mod, my fits 10 easily, +1 in the chamber and shoots perfectly fine with no issues (going on 3 years now since this mod).

@@short21yang yes i tried that. Even tried “straightening the springs” as another video said and nothing. Complete bs man. Already emailed hyve. Do they stand by their product or am i fukd ??

I see the hyve colors are different in person. Even some of the same cors have different finishes gloss or matte. I ordered two black on black. Hard to mess up black lol hopefully they look good in person. I was thinking sbout getting my whole gun cerakoted so maybe ill just send these in to get done with the gun.

Compared to the Hyve +2, the NDZ grips fit way better for me personally and as of right now I am commenting back (going on 6 years since I installed it), I still have them and still running strong and never had an issue. How has the finish held up? Seems like it would scratch and wear easily.

After all these years the color and finish still holds up. Just scratches here and there with normal wear and tear but other than that no big complaints on bad paint/finish. I would still recommend it if you're in the market for one.

​@short21yang yes when I installed mine I did it all right I had it filled up with 10 the next day I was unloading it an when I was the feeder fell in the magazine so I took the hyve off an found out it bent my magazine spring do you know the cause an what I should do I bent it back pretty much how it was

Dude that is not as burgundy.. It's a Matte RED Finish! However, it would be nice if they would make a rubber butt/bottom plate for them.

As of right now, I current issues after the installs. I still don’t dig it 100% but the +2 is nice though. Still prefer the NDZ grips because I can grip it easier and firm.

When I bought mines back then Hyve Technology never had the option of Gloss or Matte and they just had the colors you can pick from. I had someone else comment the same question as well in a different video and I can’t which it is exactly. But what I can say is there is no shine to it so I just assume it’s the matte option. As does their product I suspect. 95% of folks are right handed and they did not think to put their logo on the left so it would be more visible? Perhaps they were thinking of when it is laid on the table, rightys will lay it on the left so then the logo is exposed? So 2 more rounds and uses the stock 8 rd spring? Seems it will be weak on the last 2 rounds. $25 - 30 for 2 rounds. We are close to new mag territory and no doubt someone will be cranking out new high capacity mags soon enough. Tis but a widget imho.
