If you press a heated price of metal against a wound it can help to seal it up and also kill some of the germs that it may be infected with and you have to through the axe away because you melted the head when you heated it up
@bigchooch44346 сағат бұрын
The head is steel. You're not melting it without an arc furnace.
@FlowerSerpent5 сағат бұрын
@@bigchooch4434I agree, it's unlikely the head was melted. I think it may have been possible that, if it was a poorly made axe, the head and the handle could've been connected with some sort of adhesive or glue. That definitely could've melted during the heating process, and perhaps that's why the axe breaks?
@confusedjello72925 сағат бұрын
@@FlowerSerpent most if not all axes are made in a way that the wood part is inserted into the metal very tightly even if the glue was gone it's not like it would fall apart (although it would be VERY likely) it was probably just balancing
@FlowerSerpent4 сағат бұрын
@@confusedjello7292 Which is true. That's why I specified a "poorly made" one, because it would have to be poorly made if it were to use adhesive. I'm just brainstorming possible explanations. Maybe whatever was used to heat the axe weakened the integrity of the wooden handle? Chances are, it's most likely just game logic. But it's still fun to try and think of explanations.

7:35 so what I believe is being implied is something that is in my opinion very dangerous but seen more often than you'd think. what they do to clean the open cut is heat the axe by a lot, and use the axe to essentially burn the wound, sealing it shut and due to the high temperature, typically burns up most bacteria as well. anything that is heated up to a high degree is capable of this, even burning charcoals would work. of course you are also basically melting the axe hence why it's no longer usable. the real question is how the hell they got it to get so hot in the first place.

Super underrated reference in this is the one about the yellow wallpaper that made Ted go crazy. It's about a short story written god knows how long ago, and is one of the most prominent psychological horror short stories that exists. It's literally just called "The Yellow Wallpaper" and is about a woman that starts rapidly going insane because she's convinced the walls are talking to her. Her husband has her locked in their bedroom supposedly, but by the end of the story it's unclear of if she even had a husband, or if the room was even locked in the first place. She does end up dying of her own volition, and its meant to be a commentary on mental health and how important it is to care about your loved ones. One of the lines which the reference is based on was that the woman asked if she could open her window to breathe in fresh air, which her maybe-husband declines, which sends her spiraling quite horrifically. Super obscure and specific but worthwhile reference if you've ever taken 11th grade historical literature.
