Kind of like I-35 from Ft Worth to Austin. I'm 57 and been traveling that road for years and there's always been construction on it some where.

Before 1978, Division Street was the free route Interstate 30 was toll from D. to FW. In Arlington, the alternate route is Division St. If anyone wants to see the scenic route.

Awesome. This freeway used to be the Dallas - Fort Worth turnpike and I-20, and was one of the first freeways in the DFW metroplex when it opened in 1957. Toll collection ended in 1977, because the turnpike was paid off. Just as it should be, mobility is no cash cow.

The 'Out Of Touch' part is from the song 'Out Of Touch' by Hall and Oates, from the early 1980s - one of my roadtrip mix favs, especially for the drives on those long curvy, forested rural stretches of interstate.

I've heard of "K-Turns", but never "K-Intersections" until the signage at 4:19 PS: Artist covering Hall & Oates? It's one of the better covers out therre, even though it's mostly the chorus/breakdown.

It's also one of the biggest clusterfucks ever in the middle of a weekday afternoon, because it leads directly into at intersection for University Drive, so if the traffic gets backed up, the tail end ends up being in the exit lane on the highway, making everyone freak out.

The I-30 construction was such a pain in the ass for everyone, just so Jerry could get better infrastructure for his Jerry World. Granted it's a very nice highway now, but man did it screw alot of things up in the process.

Remember the old mix-master? If you screwed up and got on I-30 on the mix-master in down town Ft. Worth you couldn't get off till Arlington...and you had to pay a toll...and then get back on to come back and pay another toll...i remember my dad cursing himself all the way!!! LOL!!!!

I hate this particular stretch. Has been under construction since as far back as I can remember. Interstate 20 is a much better route...
