i think youre a monolith for people who want to 3d print warhammer, a while ago most of the fear would be that it doesnt look gw enough- but as time has gone on, modeling has gotten sharper and you have persisted, to the point where (soon when i can afford it) my significant other an I will be investing into a 3d printer! thank you, battle brother sam- i hope you continue making awesome content like this!!

I recently got back into 40k (I was always a lore and book rather than model kinda guy) but your stuff has been recommended, and I'm so happy it was! I'm content with my FDM printers because my painting skills are lackluster and I've no space for Resin printers yet; but I'd love to see perhaps a titan on FDM. Even Gothic Ships if you'd want to try it as a prop for your shelf, just see how high quality you can get for us people who have FDM, but either way excited to see more content. These models actually looked amazing!

The prettiest ones i found for armiger is a fancy blue boy imperial model (ultramarine themed) but a little modification in fusion to remove the ultramar iconography and theyre amazing now.

I enjoy your content. I really recommend a flex plate. It makes removal easy and uses less resin because you don't have to lift the part off the build plate everytime. Just my opinion.

Seeing Knights have so few unit types (both factions), Maintaining a catalog of 1:1 files, for BOTH factions units, may be cheaper than buying, lets say, a SINGLE War Dog! Wow, thats value!

What liquid do you use to clean your prints? I struggle with sometimes ruining batches because I dont throw out my IPA

Ya gotta use cleaner IPA. I use two tubs, first one is a bit dirtier and for quickly swishing models around. Then I put them into the cleaner bucket and repeat. Then leave to dry, then cure. Works well.

Try denatured alcohol (methylated spirits if you're overseas). it works a lot better for getting that excess resin off even if it's dirty. also you can recycle and filter your dirty ipa/denature alcohol. look up some vids about it.

Methylated spirits is what I use now but I used 99% ipa for the first year and half of printing

Howdy Sam, how would you say prepping resin prints for painting compares to traditional plastic assembly? I hate how long mold line cleaning takes and resin prep looks a bit quicker once the cure and cleaning is done.

I forgot how bad it was cleaning mold lines lol resin printing is very straight forward compared to plastic kits, I and many others prefer it the only clean up needed after wash and cure is if your supports left any marks but they are easy to get out

Dear Sam, you got me into 3d prints, so let me please share this piece of advice from a chemist: these little withe areas in the models come from drying models straight from the washing station, as they are soaked in spirit that still contains resin, just give them a light wash or brush in fresh spirit before drying. Praise the Omnissiah.

You don't show it in the vid, but do you put a layer of varnish over the existing paint to protect it before applying the oil wash? Wiping the excess wash off must risk removing the paint otherwise. I do fancy giving this oil wash technique a try, but I'd hate to do the wrong thing. . . . . Unlike Magnus. Who does all the wrong things.

Magnus did nothing wrong, no I don't use a varnish but usually the oil paints do on hours after the Acrylics so they have dried already, in this video and most of the time i add oils all over and then leave them for a few hours and then just wipe them with a dry makeup sponge because I like the darker filter/gradient effect

did you go through the process of dialing in your settings with exposure test prints? phrozens works great for getting in the ballpark, then use the cones of calibration to go even further beyond. if you need a starting point, slice print roleplay's beginner video has settings you can start with.

also ive never used the aqua 8k resin, but if you wanna try something new check out siriya tech fast (or any standard or abs like resin) mixed with siriya tech tenacious. I use an 85% fast to 15% tenacious ratio. It's a little more pricey, but it works really well for me, easy to work with and durable in case you drop a print like sam did with that swarm lord lol.

@@NightLordEnjoyer yeah i done tesseract then cones. looked perfect. had 2 days printing fine no issues then yday 2 small models did not print at all and out of 5 medium sized 3 got half peeled off and ruined mid printing :D

My settings will be different then yours especially if your using a mix, best bet is to do a exposure finder test and then calibration cones to dial it in, also check if those models that failed bring up any errors in uvtools

Ah I wonder how Google handles my accent with subtitles 😂😂 I actually forgot to include them because I was so focused on getting them printed and painted! They used half a litre of resin roughly and the deathstrider models from dork factory costs $18.50 so roughly $35 for the lot? I'm not sure what gw charge but I'm gonna guess A LOT more lol

No problem, Google does ok with your accent (I've watched your videos with sound so I can fill in the weird suggestions quite easily 😅 ) Games workshop site has a big Chaos Knight at £110, and the two smaller ones at £55 for the pair, so £165 overall. Really makes no sense not to have a 3D printer
