cost of petrol in India range from 95-100 inr. If we convert 84 euros to inr we get 7630 inr and with that much of money, one can get 80 litres of petrol. And I think RE Himalayan gives around 30/kmpl of mileage so 80*30=2400kms that's insane.

I learned the hard way during covid that if your not driving a vehicle you have to start it once a week, maybe once ever 2 weeks, if you don't let it run at least a few minutes every week the battery goes completely dead. I never knew this or even considered it when i tried using my car one day and wouldn't start, people talked to me like i was stupid and should have known that, lol. It really should be run around block at least every few weeks as well. EDIT: Haha you paid about as much as it costs me for an oil change in USA for all that, crazy! But of course have to keep in mind income is significantly lower in India too.
@SJ_new10 ай бұрын

When you have a bike standing for very long time, don't start it. Push it along a little bit. let the engine, piston, gears all simply turn up a bit. Let all the sleeping parts wake up from slumber. This would also build up compression inside. Then if there's a kicker, use it to start. Then use battery power etc. Changing oil, greasing chains, new battery, all these didn't start the bike. It started because they would have moved it along and engine compression got good. Happy riding.

The first rule when you stop using anything with an internal combustion engine more than 3-4 months: Drain all the fuel from the tank and use it/drain it the remaining fuel from the fuel system, like the fuel pipes, carburetors, injection system. If you did not do that in time, before start is again, you have to get rid of the fuel and clean the whole fuel system, which is much harder work and need expertise to do it. Even the 100% petrol are not stable in the long run, but nowadays most of the fuel partially Bio-fuel which is much less stable chemically. This is why the chainsaws, lawnmowers, motorbikes wont start after the winter. The rotting fuel clogs the system.

something @karlrock u can maybe look at, i noticed at 12:40 that the front tire was wrongly placed, i might not be well educated in bike mechanics. i think the tire thread/arrows must be facing the wheel/tire is spinning. Cause for cars thats the case correct me if am wrong. 🙂🙂
@mikefarnden289320 күн бұрын
Its fine, the same tyre I had on my Himalayan. As long as the direction arrows on the side of the tyre are facing in the direction of rotation, it doesn't matter how the tread looks.

Mine is so similar to yours. Same color, knuckle gaurds, even the mobile holder :P. But don't have these pinions but rear box.. I have gone through of dead battery scenario in which case have to do dhakka start or push start. Guess what, you can't do it alone and need someone to push or..OR, if you have a partking area ramp, climb it and use gravity to do other's persons task 😆.. There is a common issue in Himalayan there somehow the battery charge leaks, so it's getting consumed even in standby. When I got my battery replaced, the guy said that it's deriving the amps means its sucking the charge while ideal as well, thats why suggested to rev it once in a week so atleast battery is not dead.. Thats why we call it chota hathi 😆
