sun craft has the best wheel bearing..You do not have to grease them

I was so pissed. Also made the mistake of trying to use some harbor freight pullers and snap ring pliers. Broke them all lol

With some good quality snap ring pliers and the wheel bearing tool from Kryptonite, this would’ve been a breeze but I thought I could trust the harbor freight pliers and they let me down

I haven't had to do bearings yet, but wouldn't it have been easier to push the bearing out the front of the hub?

The driver’s side rear gave me hell too. I’ve also destroyed those same snap ring pliers the first time I changed a wheel bearing.

I think I know why you destroyed the wheel bearings when you took them out! I just watched a SuperAtv video on removing & installing wheel bearings on a RZR. The wheel bearings come out the front, not from the back that did! And you install from the front, then put the snap ring back in!

It depends on what year they did it on, these knuckles go in from the back, they have a lip in them that you press the bearings against and then the snap rink holds it in from the back side

How has the kryptonite wheel bearings been holding up?

I only have them in the rear right now but they seem to be doing fine. I’m honestly not impressed with the quality though. I tried pressing them in the front the other day and literally cracked the race of the bearing. It might not have been lined up perfectly but I wouldn’t think it would bust the bearing. So I just got the Polaris HD ones and they are solid. I’ll only be running them from now on

well did you destroy the hubs by pushing bearing out the back everyone i've seen you press it to the front toward the snap ring to remove the bearing

Nope definitely didn’t destroy them, both pressed out the way they are supposed to. Hubs are good

9 out of 10 bearings I replace is because someone "greased them"...

Yeah I see a lot of people online saying they grease them after every ride or when they do oil changes. Mine are still good at 750 miles. If I never would’ve taken mine apart and pulled a bearing on half I would still have the original ones in there going strong!

I have seen people have good luck going both ways, I probably won’t grease mine ever but to each their own. People can do some research and decide what they think will be best. It’s too easy to over grease them, a blown up bearing could take out more stuff, easier to just swap bearings.

Yeah it was slightly less than ideal. I think the next rzr I get, the first thing I’ll do is pull the hubs apart and load it with anti seize so hopefully this doesn’t happen again. I’m wondering if Polaris even uses anything or if it’s just slapped in there and shipped off.

lol this happens to a lot of people. You can even see Polaris mechanics do the same thing removing stock wheel bearings. As far as harbor freight tools, you get what you pay for. But yeah you’re right, I know nothing! I definitely didn’t just finish building a short course car! Hope it doesn’t fall apart! Lol
