One thing you should consider is that you’ll be at risk of ruining the ball bearings for the knives when you wash inside of the deck. Never do that unless you’re certain of getting them completely dry, or if you’re willing to remove the lock pin and washer and put new grease on them every time. (They do wear out incredibly fast when washing) I’ve had 15 years of working with them and learned very quickly that you only need to brush the inside unless it got really bad. In which case I ordered new bearings, steam washed and changed the bearings, applied new grease and put silicone spray on the inside of the deck and let it completely dry before mowing again. I know this video is old now but I figured it’s just something you could think about. Nice video though! It is an excellent machine to work with! I hope you’re still happy with it and enjoy mowing.

That's useful to know as I'm thinking of buying one of these. Are the bearings not sealed then ?
@randomstufffromrandomthing67922 жыл бұрын
@@nbandpinportugal They’re not completely sealed, and using a high pressure wash (as most people do as they’re quick and clean easy) makes it easier for water to find it’s way inside of the ball bearing. If you clean it one last time before putting it away for the winter / low season, there will be rust and so on. Of course, everyone to themselves. Not trying to steer anyone away from, or in any direction. Only sharing my own experience and way of doing things / storing them for winter.

@@randomstufffromrandomthing6792 I would definitely just brush the excess grass out most of the time. If I leave it on my strimmer for any length of time it goes mouldy.

Have you ever looked into a ferris zero turn mower its by far my favourite mower ive ever used it can cut ridiculously fast lots of power to handle tall grass with no stragglers super simple and comfy smooth ride with full suspension
@bumpkinrocks5 жыл бұрын
Very good mower if like you it's mowed regularly. Definitely better with the Kawasaki engine, briggs is weak and head gaskets issues. The rear diff has been an issue for a couple of people I know. Think it's down to not servicing the oil, ask about and keep on top of it.
@FarmerP5 жыл бұрын
Look after the kit, and it will take care of you. That's what I was taught. I don't spare the grease and an annual oil and filter change is still a cheap service.

thats a pretty cool bit of kit and instead of being built to keep costs down/easy of manufacture its built with the user/aftercare in mind. car companies could learn a thing or to from this bit of kit. this videos has also opened my eyes as i thought that Husqvarna only made chainsaws, guess i was wrong. Can you get a diesel engine option with these? just thinking that it may well suite more if like yourself your on a farm and your main source of fuel is diesel but yet again im guessing you only really use petrol for chainsaws again good video mate (will resist from calling you Dave) . only thing i would say is the audio is a bit on the low side with the music being a fair bit louder

Quick question. I know that some farms have public paths going through them. does this cause any problems?
@FarmerP5 жыл бұрын
michakiri 80% of footpath users follow the countryside code, stay on the path, shut gates behind them, keep their dog on a lead and pick up behind it. The other 20% see a field and think it’s a public park that they can use as they will, normally urban dwellers who know no different or who don’t care if they are causing harm. Running about and rolling in your corn or mowing grass is fun but it can start a chain reaction of flattening the crop if you get heavy rain and wind soon after. Making holes in hedges to take a short cut can result in escaping stock. Leaving dog mess can result in gut worms or even abortion in cattle. And of course the litter, cattle are curious, they will sniff, lick and often eat the strangest things.... I have had to recover a half eaten party (helium) balloon from a young heifer a couple of years ago....... “That was a task!” A farming friend has had to have wire removed from a cows rumen, it was the rusty remains of a Chinese lantern that had dropped into his pasture. What goes up and entertains the party for two minutes..... must come down, and can cause a lot of harm. While we are here, Fireworks can also be a massive problem for farmers... Terrified cattle can run miles, and fences won’t always stop them. Tell your neighbouring livestock keeper if you want to have a birthday fireworks party, he will thank you. If farming simulator or similar games could raise awareness of the unintended damage people can do including harm to livestock by negligence or simple ignorance....That would be a good thing.
@michakiri5 жыл бұрын
@@FarmerP wow you guys get affected more than I thought. I mean the people who are always angry at farmers and such and then they probably do more harm than your bit of smell as they drive through or maybe get stuck somewhere for a few minutes. But I don't think that any of them understand that without you guys we don't eat. Keep up the good work.

He brought it down from North Lancashire stopped on channock Richard services on the m6 to make a phone call somebody try nicking it off the back of his pickup while he was sat in it. He said he only realised when he saw the trailer rolling backwards!!! It was all on camera but the police didn't want to know because we still had the trailer. Fine mower! Great to be able to get at deck easily. Love the manueurabiliry around the poles etc. Would u call that a zero turn? Did u try the other type where ur sitting over 2 big wheels and castors on the deck, turn using levers?
@FarmerP5 жыл бұрын
Bambinohead1 It’s not a zero turn, quite. I didn’t fancy a zero turn on some of the banks I cut. I also get SOSd from a neighbour who is regularly getting his stuck. I prefer the 4x4 option more. 👍🙂

These are brilliant machines, i use one beloning to a customer and think its the best small ride on available. I prefer it to more expensive stigas. The mower i use is about 7 years old and whilst id stress its regularly serviced it has never given any bother. I would change the deck belt every 2 years. The slope holding and manuveability is superb, one of the reasons i love using it is because there is almost no strimming as i can get right up into corners etc.
