I mean it makes sense, even in the chaotic gen 9 meta a light ball on Raichu would be a serious wall breaker in UU and one of the hardest hitting Pokemon in general. Alolan Raichu would probably murder everything in sight if partnered with Tapu Koko or Miraidon.

If you gave that Pikachu water type Tera it would boost the power of surf but also only give it one weakness to grass because lightning rod eliminates the electric weakness.

I really love that crystal-styled animation at the beginning. I assume it is fan made, because it seems more extended than in crystal from my knowledge. My problem is that I love Raichu too much to not use it competitively. If the anime was right and I need pikachu for any speed moves beforehand I would do that, but that is about it for the most part.

Dunno if Haydunn will see this but I've been using Pika competively since Gen 6. I got master rank with it in SwSh and in Scarlet Violet first season (not played since). In doubles it's a menace. I paired it with Sableye for two reasons fake out but also lightning rod could draw its thunder wave for sp attack boost, paired with a surprise flying terra for those ground moves lol With the flying terra, my Pika been able to take out opposing garchomps with ease.. I mainly play doubles and well Pika is the bomb. Even in SwSh it had a decent gmax and a great switch in against regieleki with lightning rod that Charizard would bait

I don't think I've ever related to competitive Pokemon commentary more than your hatred for Garganacl...Even if I feel like I've found a good counter for it, it just. Won't. Die. Just _seeing_ the damn thing on the enemy team before the game begins essentially means I either lose the game before it comes out, or it slowly whittles down by team bit-by-bit with Salt Cure and Recover, ESPECIALLY if it's hanging out with its best friend, Flip Turn + Wish Alomomola. Then there's Tera! There are three popular Tera Types for Garganacl I've seen in Water, Fairy, and Ghost -- each of which has their own unique weaknesses and resistances meaning it's not nearly as easy as bringing in a Pokemon with a supereffective move against ONE of those types, and if you try to send out a Steel or Water type to counter its base Rock, Salt Cure of course has to punish you for that too. And don't even THINK about trying to status it, because clearly it wasn't good enough so they had to give it Purifying Salt, and...also screw over Ghost-types for some reason, I uh...I don't actually know why that was necessary. I mean I guess it makes sense lore-wise, with salt and all, but...just weird. All the while Garganacl can just set up with Iron Defense either to kill every last one of your Pokemon with Body Press, or just out of sheer spite, because god knows YOU'RE never going to get a random crit off to pierce all that defense; oh but Garg's perfectly fine crit-one-shotting your only Covert Cloak wearer. I genuinely don't know how this thing ever fell to UU, or how it _wasn't_ banned to Ubers back when it was suspected. Is there some secret Garganacl counter I don't know about? Is it JUST Gholdengo and Make It Rain that keeps it from being OU by usage? Can't be, since it's almost always the Tera user, and it essentially resists Shadow Ball. I just don't get it -- _why_ isn't Garganacl an issue to so much of the OU playerbase that it's UUBL?

That makes sense now. Still why wouldn't your opponent use willo-wisp on a mien Shao. And why would they assume you would use an electric move against rotom. If you weren't running water absorb why would use switch to clodsire. You weren't going to use an electric move on a rotom. Seeing your mien shao, they still tried to fight with kingambit knowing you could've used fake out and then a fighting move. There's the simple solution of switching into tera ghost garcganacl. Your opponent is absolute garbage. It's hard to believe this isn't choreographed. I agree with you though. Light Ball Pikachu is awesome.

Honestly they need to give Pikachu the Partner Pikachu stats. It’d still be frail as hell, but it’d actually have a decent offensive stat for Light Ball to buff. Though I will say I completely steamrolled all of ORAS using Light Ball Pikachu. Reset until I got +Speed -Defense nature, then gave it Nuzzle and Electro Ball. Would typically one shot everything, only thing that survived the one hit was Wallace’s Milotic, which I instead used Volt Tackle on. Was a fun challenge run.

Pika! Even with Pikachu's stats being the way they are, it's good to know that a good ol' Thunderbolt can put in some work. By the way, do you have any sets you would recommend for Leavanny? It's got some new moves like Lunge to soften up a physical attacker and Trailblaze to give itself some speed without needing the sun, but I don't which way I want to go with it.
