You GUYS! I adopted a dog from an animal shelter in SoHo called Animal Haven. Her name is Phoebe and she's already changed my life for the better in the short 2 weeks I've had her. 🥺 Follow along to see what the the dog adoption process is like in New York.

my neighbor went to NY to get a pit, a month later her frenchy that had the wheelchair for lame legs was dead and so was the pit a few days later from being put down

This video was the absolute cutest so happy you adopted Phoebe!!🖤 I have a super random question for you, I will be moving to NYC soon and I too have a pitbull mix… Did you have trouble finding places for her to go to the bathroom outside?? Or are there more grassy areas than I thought in the city? Or do dogs normally use the bathroom on the sidewalk? I saw Phoebe doing that in part of the video that’s why I ask. Also, I know that pit bulls are typically on the restricted list for breeds in apartments, how did you tackle this issue?? Thanks so much for all your help! 🤍🖤

Depends on the neighborhood, but there are generally lots of mini parks and dog runs randomly scattered throughout the city. Most dogs just go on the sidewalk though! And no, I didn’t have any issues with breed restrictions, I think landlords are just anxious to get tenants to fill units so you should be fine!

I’m thinking of adopting a lab/pit bull mix too! Are you in a studio and did you run into issues with your super on the breed type?

Not at all - i think they're a lot more lenient with breeds in NYC.

Not a dumb question! I had her on a foster to adopt program and ultimately decided we weren’t the right fit for each other. :( (I have a video on this up on my channel) had I officially adopted her, there would be a $300 adoption fee!
