Eamon and I have been lucky enough to travel to Mexico in our van since 2018 and we've always been so sad to see the struggling stray dogs and puppies on the streets. We even fostered a sick puppy from Baja in 2019 and drove him back up to Canada where he's happily lived in his furever home for the last 4 years. So, when we met Alex and he said it was his dream to start a dog rescue here in Baja we knew we needed to help! 🐶 🐕 🐩

The dog shelter is not upsetting. What boggles my mind is that outsiders think it’s okay to come in and establish themselves and not care about the consequences. I was thrilled even donated because Mexico needs dogs shelters but when I saw overnight oats were prices at 170 I found that upsetting. How are you going to charge 170 pesos when daily min wage is 200 pesos. I get it if you can’t afford it don’t buy there but that’s what is making Mexico as expensive as in the US. 170 pesos is close to $10 in Mexico?! Come on.

My dog is a Mexican rescue. I got him in Cal. He has a lot of trauma but LOVE is the answer. He is such a beautiful, wonderful, smart, silly, happy dog my life would not be full of joy without him. I'm born and raised in Oregon. In 2008 I moved to Morelia Michoacan Mexico and lived there for a year over the course of 2 years. One of the hardest things to see was all the emaciated animals that roamed the streets. My husband was able to not be as emotionally involved as I was when seeing this because as he is from Mexico and it was normal for him to see growing up. He would tell me to not touch or feed strays. It was so difficult because I knew feeding them wouldn't fix the long term issue for them, but would for a moment make them feel better. All I wanted was to make them better. Sadly the reality was I didn't have the resources to do much. I love the fact that you guys are helping these animals. Thank you ❤😊❤😊❤😊

Be careful locating the shelter too close to people. Some folks just HATE on dogs and you do NOT want them to damage your place when you are not there. Unless there will be someone there at ALL times. I have seen that happen all over the world. There is an element of community education that is needed also.

I can’t believe how anyone can be mad at you for “not helping people”. You guys help people every time you post a video! You always bring up everyone’s moods and give them something so positive to see. You also helped so many woman on your breast cancer journey, seeing how you changed your mindset and was able to get through it was so inspiring to so many people.

I watched this just waiting to come for vacation and I thought it was gonna be like your house video but it wasn’t, this made my heart warm up so much ❤😢. When I was on vacation so many dogs were on the street walking around and I could see there bones, when I saw this it made me cry I wish people could be this kind and do this all over the world😊
