Wow, a surprise is right! This is really amazing how it worked out and it's so good you don't have tons of babies to find homes for. They are all so squeeable and tiny though, I can't get over it! Honey is really tiny too and I'm glad she didn't have any complications from her young age. 🙂

4 years ago i also adopted a female hamster, and about one week later when i got home from school i went to see my hamster, i picked her up and underneath her there were these tiny shrimp looking things, it was ofc hamster babies ^^' i was so surprised. EDIT: I just watched your video titled HAMSTER HAMSTER HAMSTER and I am very concerned... hamsters are not toys, and should not be played with in that rough manner. You shouldn’t force them into toys, or make them run on a wheel in the air. They have bad depth perception meaning they don’t know how high they are, and might jump. Also the way you are holding them is very painful and can damage their spines/organs. This is a comment from a very concerned hamster owner.. also, how big is your cage?

When I was 7 my dad brought me two hamsters, which we kept in a big cage (bad to keep hamsters together, I know, but I didn’t at the time.) My dad was told they were both male and wasn’t warned not to keep them together. They were male and female and I think the male was a lot younger because he was small compared to her. But she would keep beating him up and it was so frustrating. Fast forward a few weeks, the Male somehow escaped and the female gave birth to maybe 5 babies. Which she then ate. I’ve learnt that they do that because they are stressed and don’t think their babies have a change of survival but for a child that was horrifying to see. She escaped too not too long after. Or at least that’s what I was told happened. Thinking back, I feel really sorry for both of them, if they were properly cared for none of this would’ve happened. I’ve had hamsters since I was very young and some lived for ages and I think had nice lives, some didn’t. I guess as a child I couldn’t had known but I wish my parents were better informed.

Two months ago it happend the same to me, in a pet shop: they gave me a pregnant hamster, even if i asked for a male... of course i'll never buy pets again, i will only adopt. Btw she gave birth to 7 little buddies, it's been hard, but now they have all been adopted. I have to thank an association (AIC, it's italian) that found a home for every of them♡ Will you keep the puppies?🐹

I had the exact same situation, I got her in the pet shop, she came with 8 buddies XD 7 are going back for sale, i arrange a deal with the pet shop... now the mom and the girl are still in the same enclosure until further notice or your answer. 2 veterinaries told me they can be kept together if they are from the same family. Do you have any opinion on that topic?

I HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME STORY AS YOURS 😂😂 i adopted a female hamster and i personally don't want to breed it so i just took in 1 hamster. Since it was my first time having a pet, i don't know much about how it could look like when pregnant and i was also still doing research about hamster. After 3 days of adopting my syrian hamster, Ramen, she gave birth to 8 pups 🙂😂 today they are 8 days old 😂 i bought a new cage and accessories just for the pups 😌😂

Omg I am in the same situation currently!!! I've owned several hamsters in the past but I've never had one that ended up being pregnant. My current hamster sass (sassafras) who is also still just a baby herself came from a different place (essentially I rescued her from a really bad market that was definitely not following any regulations which had me infuriated), sass was trying to escape the cage they had her in which is why I chose her, who would have known she was trying to escape so she could give her babies a place to be safe, I'm so glad I picked her out.) I'm not sure if she was ever housed with males or what the deal is but she ended up giving birth only 2 weeks into me owning her. She seems to be doing a good job so far as a mother. she'll constantly go down to the nest I didn't realize she was building for her babies until recently to feed them whenever they start crying. She brings them water, etc. I don't know how many babies she gave birth to because I don't want to disturb them but i know there's at least two of them as of right now. I wasn't planning on having more hamsters.. but I'm excited I get to watch these little guys grow up. Hopefully everything goes well, you're truly a life saver with your content and the forums you've informed me of through some of your videos, I don't know what I'd do without all the help I've been able to find online regarding things like this, so again, thanks a lot!!

The girl called me first, so I knew she wasn't a guy. I met the guy in a local mall. So yes you can meet people off of Craigslist alone. The best way, is to meet at a mall. I just rescued a Syrian that was housed with another Syrian (and it happened to be a MALE... yikes), she was in a small tiny tales with the other one, no hides, 6,5 wheel. I'm so happy I got her and gave her a proper home, however, 4 days after her being here she gave birth. The babies are now 4 days old, the gave birth to 4. I tought she could be pregnant when she told me she was with a male so I gave her extra protein. I'm keeping one of the babies to myself and THANK GOD I already had experience with adopting a pregnant hamster and also your channel helps so much. I LOVE your work and I love your passion in educating people about hamster care... I often to the same but towards snakes husbandry and care. My sister bought two syrian hamsters without doing any prior research and kept them in a cage together. Next thing she knew, there were nine baby hams. She got them two separate cages after that, thankfully. Her local pet store agreed to accept six of them and my daughter pleaded with me to keep one. I'm glad I found your channel here on youtube. I'm so glad it was you Victoria who got her instead of someone else. And it looks like you got her just in time or else the person surrendering her may of handled the situation differently...seeing how she wanted to get rid of Honey to clean up her collection. Usually from following legit hamster breeders, the best time to breed a female is around 4 months old or else complications can follow. Unfortunately it does sound like she was bred too young and hopefully her babies won't have any complications. Lets just hope the gene pool wasn't too thin cause who knows what the previous owner was doing with them. >:[

Hamster babies are super needy. Just took in three female dwarfs from the small pet shop I work at. They barely will touch the veggies I give them. Their mother passed straight after birth ( the woman we took her from bred her back to back inbred ) and it was too much a toll on her body. We hand fed them so they’re super tame :)). But that being said they’re more used to human hands and constantly want to be held. They also didn’t have a hamster mom so I’m not sure if this has to do with it but they act weird - like they will stuff their cheeks and never unstuff them. They’ll sleep with their stuffed cheeks and everytime we hold them their cheeks are stuffed. They’re adorable though other than being squeaky and needy, not to mention picky!!!

Hi, you may know already but baby hamsters that are weaning love canary seed. It's small enough for them to eat easily and will build them up nicely.

i remember i got a winter white hamster and she had 4 babies and a few weeks later had 4 more!! it was hard finding them homes but i found them great homes! i kept 3 little babies named sugar, spice, and patch. Sadly they all past they lived to at least 2 years old!! i now have a Syrian and is doing great!!:)
