You guys should start feeding Wolfie separately from the other dogs, perhaps in another room, so he doesn't feel so threatened or doesn't have the competition for the food! Also try getting him a slow feeder! This will help slow him down a bit too. He is starting to get older, so you should look into getting him special food, or hip and joint vitamins. I know they make them for German Shepherds, but I'm sure Huskies can have them too.

I think it's absolutely lovely that you help the best that you can. I adopted a beagle and absolutely loved her but she continually got sick. After countless vet visits and me stopping taking my medication so she would have medication. I asked everybody I knew if they knew of any programs or anything that could assist in the bills. The shelter that we got our dog from had a policy of if you weren't able to take care of the dog to bring the dog back. I thought we were going to the shelter to talk about possible assistance. Sadly, my mom was there to tell them that we could no longer take care of the dog. I was blindsided, but I knew that we could no longer keep up taking care of the dog. Thankfully she was adopted very soon after. I still miss her. She passed about a year after finding her forever family. So many people don't understand what it is to truly love an animal and want the best for them. I had so much hate from people saying that they would have lived in a cardboard box rather than handing over their dog.

As well as no confirmation that they would not donate again in the future. It was picked up as that kind of story though, even though they also stopped donating to organizations that were not anti-lgbtq+. If they truly thought what they did was wrong, I think a statement and an apology would be required to move forward.
