That lil kitten will learn! Mine took till he was over a year until he got calmer (and until he was fixed lol!) and didn’t claw so much when we played ! You have a heart of gold for adopting this boy! He will forever be yours and love you so much.

I have had kittens and cats my whole life I am a foster mom also differently have a spray bottle of water and that's only when you are teaching him not be on counters or on anythingor keeping them away from plants also if he gets Inany big plants take plastic forks and put them in the soil with point side up

Congratulations on your new home and your new kitten. I rescued my cat from the streets of Sidney when he was just a kitten too. That was 12 years ago. One tip I can give you is maybe buy him a stuffed/plush toy. They get really attached to that one toy and they will continue to play with it forever. Even if it’s old and torn. You cannot replace it because it will be like he’s security blanket, so make sure you get one that’s pretty sturdy. Also, you can use the toy as a shield for your hand when he’s playing and getting rambunctious. Like I said, my cat is 12 and he still drags that ratty old stuffed leopard of his everywhere. It’s actually really adorable. A lot of cats really do this, you can even Google it. Anyway, please keep us updated with Tofu. He is so cute!

Oh my goodness that sounds adorable! How has it not fallen apart throughout the years?! Tofu has this little lobster toy he loves but cash has ripped off one of his claws 😭

Yay! Love seeing how well Tofu is doing! ❤️ I got my little guy at the same age and he is also a vicious little monster when he plays 🤣🤣 my theory is that they never learnt how to “play” socially as mama and siblings would protest any hard biting. Ours didn’t get to have that learning experience so they need to be taught that behaviour is not ok. I do a firm “no” with a finger point and stop playing completely. He still bites ridiculously hard but when I say no or put my finger up he “mostly” stops. Other times he’s just way too excited and keeps gunning for my ankles 😂😅 they’re like hormonal teenagers now too so that doesn’t help 🙃 Love the outcome of this story though and very happy for you all 👏🏼

Congrats! Tofu is so cute. You probably already know because you have a dog, but a lot of common house plants aren’t cat safe. Every time I buy a new plant I have to google whether it’s cat safe or not because my two cats love to monch on them 😅

Aww what a crazy story! I can't believe the vet kept trying to dodge you and wouldn't answer your calls with a direct answer. Perhaps they were trying to protect the kitties and I'm not aware of that process? Anyway, I'm so glad you were able to get Tofu! I LOVE his cute goatee

The biting is kind of unavoidable when it comes to kittens. They are teething, getting used to their teeth. All you can do is continue to show them that it’s not ok to bite. Until they get used to the teeth

If the kitty is biting or scratching, put him down and/or stop playing with him immediately - this will prevent reinforcing the behaviour.
