If you feed a cat proper raw food (meat), their poop doesn't stink as much, it's drier and there's less of it. All good things! You can buy premade raw, frozen food that contains a proper balance of nutrients or find recipes online if you're willing to make it from scratch. Always important to include the required nutrients, of course.

I've saved "litteraly" thousand of dollars not having to buy cat litter, and of course, never having to clean the litter box is priceless!

Most of my cats have been indoor-outdoor cats. Zoomies were rare, especially post kittenhood. I think that cats who are allowed outdoor time are better able to relieve themselves of pent up energy while out in nature. The sights, sounds, and smells of nature are what they live for. Indoor cats can often be frustrated by their boring surroundings and probably use zoomies as an outlet for their boredom. Regardless, after a poo is cause for a tear around the house when inside.

Cats can hear up to 64 kiloHertz so maybe they are reacting to the the sounds of insects and the ultrasonic cries of baby mice, stuff way beyond the range of human hearing.
@Robert0801017 күн бұрын
I know that many dogs respond by howling to ultrasonic signals placed in TV ads. Signals we can't hear but dogs can cause them to seems to "sing along" to specific ads. The signals in the ads are intended to be picked up by apps on your cell phone to confirm to advertisers that the ad was shown.
@rondemkiw449217 күн бұрын
@@Robert08010 This is not possible. The audio sound channel on TV is band limited to about 16 kiloHertz, which is the range of hearing of most adult humans. Ultrasound simply cannot get through, it would be filtered out by the audio bands of all the circuitry from the studio to the the sound circuits of the television. Furthermore, the audio codecs used in digital television systems compress the sound data by removing all the components that are inaudible to the human ear - inaudible sounds to codecs are just extraneous data they don't want to carry. The audio codecs used by cell phones do something similar - the algorithm will just block any ultrasound. Having said that, there could be unintentional audio feedback in the sound circuit of the TV that could be producing an ultrasonic howl around that will disturb animals - I think that's plausible. Furthermore, in the days of analogue cathode ray tube TVs - with powerful scanning electromagnets deflecting the electron beam - the television scanning itself might have caused components to vibrate at an ultrasound harmonic - I think that also is plausible. When I was a little kid - when my hearing was keenest - I could tell if a household had the TV on - even when I was at the bottom of the drive way - because I could hear the whistle of the TV scanning. Lastly, advertisers can confirm if an ad was shown by watching the show. I believe there are monitoring agencies employed to watch tv shows to confirm ads. There is a rumour that Samsung TVs have a microphone pickup - an ad transmission could be confirmed simply by listening for the soundtrack of the ad - but it is only a rumour - it is probably an urban myth. To confirm an ad was shown they don't have to do anything as complicated as you describe - which is impossible anyway.

My cat's zoomies often happens shortly after mealtime so I believe it's a result of elevated blood sugar levels. Additionally, I believe this behavior is sometimes a tactic employed by our cat in order to be let out of the house to play. Certainly, after being let out of the house our cat often goes into zoomies mode.
@dougmiles712418 күн бұрын
It depends on whether they are outdoor cats or not. Outdoor cats rarely run around when indoors but indoor cats do so often. Outdoor cats often hunt, whether waiting at an occupied rodent hole for a resident to venture away from safety or chasing down a rabbit or bird. Indoor cats don't have the same opportunity.

Cats are Apex Predators in Nature. Zoomies are the way domesticated Cats release their built up energy as they no longer hunt. A Zoomie Cat is a happy and healthy Cat!
@Vilemirth15 күн бұрын
This is not correct. Remove the word "Apex" from this description, please. There are plenty of predators, from larger cats (lynx, bobcats, etc.), coyotes, owls and other birds of prey, which will kill and eat a house cat without thinking twice about it. You're not an apex predator, unless there is no other predator that will normally hunt you. Are cats amazingly skilled and efficient predators? Oh, yes! But that is not described by the term "apex". I blame Hollywood for pushing a term they know nothing about.

My cat gets the zoomies at night, just when I want to settle down and watch some TV. She also has a toy made of sisal shaped like a carrot, and she gives that carrot hell… I say ‘poor Mr Carrot’…. 😂😂😂

I absolutely love it when it's zoomies time with my cat which is usually twice, sometimes three times a day she covers the whole house then jumps into my wheelchair (when I'm out of it sitting on the sofa) then does circles on the cushion chasing her tail before another round of zoomies it's funny af to watch even at daft o clock🤣

One of my cats does this whenever he needs to poop 😂 he acfually has a cat wheel that he will run onto. He seems to run to help him go to the bathroom easier

My cat Sylvester did the zoomies a lot when he was a little kitten. He still does it mostly in the morning but, not as much. I think it's how he gets his exercise.

Our female cat follows us to the bathroom when we have 'to go' and I think she is defending us. Going to the toilet, whether cats or humans, we are defenseless and an easy target for predators, so I think she is trying to protect us. In the same was I think she gets the zoomies after doing a poop because she is prone and also an easy target, so as soon as she's done, she runs away from the danger zone ... she could also just be put off by the smell

My Fiona does zoomies. When my mom's cat was still alive, they would chase each other around the house and up and down the stairs. She still runs like that and I think it's her and her pal's spirit chasing each other the way the always did.

Cats are amazing animals, better companions, better friends, and better than dogs over all.

Number 5 is just wrong. Every pet owner knows what the zoomies are and it is not the same thing as when a pet reacts to a fright. Zoomies are about pent up energy and the need to blow off some steam. In the case of a fright, the panic flight ends quickly (as soon as the cat realizes it is not in danger) while the zoomies can go on for a while. And also, there was NOTHiNG in this entire video that was specific to cats. Dogs get the zoomies too and for the same reasons. My upstairs a neighbor takes their dog out at 3am for a mid-night poo and when they bring him back in, he does the zoomies for 15 minutes. Forget dingleberries; its far more likely its just too uncomfortable to run around like a wild thing with a butt full of poo for fear they might have an accident. But after wards, when the risk is low, they can express all the exuberance they want without any fear.

I do not understand people who do not like both dogs and cats.
