It is a great camera, but that price is just too high. $5k is probably the sweet spot.

I'm very interested in this camera. Paying off my A7RV. A1 II is just so versatile. High MP, FPS is fast enough for my needs, shoot in silence mode... Will need to save up for sure.

Super versatile, single camera for everything! Obviously a price tag attached to that benefit... I imagine an a7V will have pretty good FPS (we'll see if they up the MP count).

@DavidZhou I'm also tempted with the A7V. I got the A7IV. Wish it had the AI chip to match with A7RV. Very good camera. Happy with the 33mp, just wish it was faster. It's going to need to do better to compete with Nikon and Canon in the same level. If it has the same mp (or better), AI chip, shoots faster, dual CF Express Typa A slots, same flip/tilt screen and I'm sold! I'll trade/sell my A7IV. A7RV vs A1 II. If money was no object, I might have them both. I believe I'd sell my A7RV to get the A1 II. Both cameras are great but the A1 II is just better.

Different strokes for different folks, not every camera is for everyone and I think for me (and sounds like for you) something like the a7V/a7rVI will be more in our wheelhouse!

Unfortunately I’m mostly in the Sony ecosystem, would love to branch out to other camera brands someday to cover “equivalent” cameras and compare them

@@DavidZhou I really want you to give it a try because Canon has been doing great this year, especially with the R5II. I had a chance to try it, and it’s amazing. The price is also very reasonable!

I almost bought a A1 II too. Only reason I couldn't because it is sold out everywhere. Even heard new pre-order backlog pushed back 3-4 months.

I'm not surprised since it's a flagship launch, lots of professionals are going to want it and I doubt they're making as much supply as they do for more consumer-oriented models..

Don’t like the price but I like the idea of using just 1 camera. I like the idea of a ZV-E1 and a7cii….i have thought about selling my a7siii to get that combo, but just didn’t. lol 😂 Great thoughts and video

Hahaha, not a fan of the price at all. It's nice that I'm at a point in my career where the price tag doesn't feel unreasonable, but still... I kind of like my setup of different cameras for different jobs... And I'm not shooting NFL/Olympics/Safari content anyways... yet... 😂

There will definitely be a lot of features not in the a7V (probably no 8k, no pre-shoot, no blackout free burst), but I think some of the major quality of life features like the rear screen design, better AF, and an updated sensor will definitely make it 🤞🏼

Definitely won’t have a stacked sensor or 30fps burst/pre-capture which is the features the kinds of working professionals look for when buying this camera. The A7V will be for a different kind of shooter in mind. Hopefully it’s a 40+mp sensor though. That would be nice.

If Sony has another high resolution stacked sensor with similar readout speed in development, it will end up in a camera with a similar price. I'm sure the A7V will be great, but it will be a $2500 camera intended to compete with its $2500 competition in the form of the Z6 III and R6 II, the idea that it would instead ignore that market segment completely and be aimed at taking sales away from Sony's own flagship for the next 3-4 years is fun, but completely disconnected from reality.

a7v will not have a stacked sensor and that is the biggest benefit that allows some of the other benefits. a7v will have horrible rolling shutter.

No stacked sensor, but it'll still be an improvement from the a7IV with (hopefully) a lot of quality of life updates that makes our jobs easier! But if you need the stacked sensor well... here's the option haha

The picture you showed us here is not a great advertisement for the camera or your work. In my opinion, neither the composition nor the quality is particularly good. But let me get back to my thoughts about the camera. Since Sony used the same sensor as its predecessor and only added a few useful features, I don’t think it’s worth the price compared to the rest of the market. An A9 III may justify its price because there’s no other camera with similar specs available, but the A1 II falls short of many expectations we had for it. Even the focus stacking is nowhere near as fast as the camera's shooting capabilities and feels as slow as on the A7R V, which is disappointing. The display is a bad joke, and it’s baffling that Sony, a company known for its excellent mobile phone displays, can’t set a benchmark here. As a result, I’ve decided to cancel my order and wait for a camera that meets all my needs. For now, I’ll stick with my "slow" but higher-resolution A7R V.
