I got lucky with the Titanic. I went to a mall near Detroit on October 30th with my wife. There is a Legoland store in that mall. We went in and saw a Titanic Box on the shelf. Thinking it was a display, I went to spin the box around to look at the back, I realized it was heavy...an authentic set. There was a sign under it saying that if you were an Annual Pass holder to Legoland/Sea Life Aquarium, they were allowing you to purchase the Titanic early. I bought an annual pass for $44 and they knocked 10% off the Titanic for being a Lego VIP member...so I ended up getting the Titanic for a little bit of a discount. They had 4 or 5 sets in stock. After I bought mine, they sold out of the other 4 in about 20 minutes. I was just glad I didn't have to wait online at Midnight or fight the line at the Lego Store on November 8th. I don't know how often Legoland does this, but I will definitely be calling them next week to see if they are selling the AT-AT early...worth a shot. If not, I will be online at midnight.
