Wuzhen is very close to Hangzhou, it only takes an hour by car, so many tourists usually add Wuzhen to Hangzhou's travel plan when they visit Hangzhou.

Zhou Zhuang #1 water town 周庄 in 苏州 bigger than this one, 100 km away from Shanghai. It's famous for silk and 评弹 local opera, sometimes you can catch them performing in tea house. Also its 昆曲 is origin of Chinese national opera 京剧。There also had a huge 沈万三 house build in Qing dynasty 乾隆年间.

I notice that they don't paint their houses. Paints must be expensive in China. Doors, walls, and windows are broken. They don't bother to fix them. @5:35, is that a canal or a river? It is beautiful and hopefully, not too many mosquitoes. But Lao Doufu is really impressive. He went through random places.

This is a great example of modernization of traditional planning without modern zoning municipal, China has lost this type of composition in its modern zoning. Same thing you can see in many Arabic city like Marrakesh, or in Nolli's Plan of the ancient Rome - they all share the common entity with this place, which is the courtyard being modernized into a mixed complex of commercial and residential. US cities were started with modern zoning code so it's hard to see here...

thanks, but i learned from editing this video, that i really need to turn around more slowly, but my excuse is that i was just exploring and thought i would edit out my turning around parts, but is was way cooler to let it run as filmed, i thought during editing. even now i think i made the right call. the only thing i would change is the empty street, nothing happening right before the final song. oh well
