This one made me so emotional, it just made me feel so safe in the end. I love how you immediately stopped when you realized you scared her and gave her space before talking to her again. It showed your maturity by taking some time to process what happened and because of that you were able to figure out her situation and apologize. Not only can we tell how genuinely sorry you feel, but there’s also your strong desire to protect her and make sure she knows you would never treat her the way her ex did and don’t expect her to talk about her trauma if she feels uncomfortable. It’s always so beautiful when there’s trust, communication, and understanding.

I was raised in a family where flinching was barely non existent, because we didn't even had the time to. The first time I listened to this I expected screaming; a raised voice or even something worse. This got me thinking that the people who did that to me didn't even care to apologize or accepting their mistakes, they used them as an argument to say that they "raised us well" and that "we are well behaved". And when he says that I say to myself who would even judge his gf or anybody based on past traumas or insecurities, until the man I loved and trusted did. That time when I made him angry he didn't even discuss the reason of the problem but instead brought up my insecurities, my health condition, my panic attacks calling me psycho and used many other vulnerable moments I stupidly shared with him thinking who on earth would insult or judge someone based on these things. Well.. how naive I was, how inexperienced 😀
