Reading the Qur'an without understanding its historical context or the relevancy and proper application of its verses will lead you to make conclusions such as yours. Islamic scholars who studied the Qur'an and the life of the Prophet knew how to apply these verses correctly. You don't necessarily see 1.5 billion Muslims murdering non-believers, do you? That's because their religion explicitly says that they would be sinning against God if they ever attempted to murder innocent lives. Please do yourself a favor and be more objective in your studies of anything and everything, including religion.

Jeffrey Odolski After reading the quran and several other books about islam and after many conversations with muslims my humble opinion is that I'm not ignorant about this issue. Christians according to quran are not innocent, they are evildoers who defy God. "Those who say, "God is the Messiah, son of Mary," have defied God. The Messiah himself said; "Children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord." If anyone associates others with God, God will forbid him from the Garden, and Hell will be his home. No one will help such evildoers" quran 5:72 The majority of the muslims I've met haven't read the quran and don't know what it teaches about people from other religions. I know that your intentions are good my friend, but if you were more informed about this religion you wouldn't make this comment.

Not nervous washing feet in public place. Nervousness is something a person doubting their faith goes through. A nervous Muslim is a rare find, but its usually because of communal support, not because the Muslim totally believes in their faith. There are room for doubts but the support of the Islamic community substantiates that. There is a sense of togetherness of Islam. The only problem is Islam doesnt connect a person to spiritual truth but to personal connections with others. Regarding - what Muslims did - or more likely did not do - for the world, there is a widespread misconception that they "invented algebra". Maybe this fallacy is due to the fact that "algebra" is a word of Arabic origin, but historical questions are not solved by etymological answers. Yes, the English word "algebra" derives from the Arabic. So does "sugar" (from the Arabic "sukkar") but that doesn't mean that Muslims invented sugar.

Dr. Munir was saying when we related this hadith in English, that he used the term "utter," which means "say it" by tongue. Then the Prophet (s) said, "I will argue for you on the Judgement Day." We understand this to mean the Prophet (s) would argue on his behalf for his salvation. As implying, "I will take into consideration that I will be present in the presence of Allah (swt) asking shafa`a (intercession) for you.

The name Al-Qayyûm indicates that Allâh has the intrinsic and independent absolute being. OMie - Bart Erhman is an interesting character. Like many atheists he points to the discrepancies in the gospel narrative to say they are not reliable. But I will ask you a simple question. If three friends met your wife and wrote there recollections of the visit what would matter? The exact time and place of the visit or the content of the relationship. She loves you, she misses you, she wants to meet you. The gospels were written to convey this overwhelming message of love and hope.

Truly every king has a sanctuary, and truly Allah’s sanctuary is His prohibitions.

Peaceful ties like these, they say, should not be broken except in extreme urgencies that necessitate war, provided that all peaceful steps have failed in terminating the cuase of dispute. This is what Islam has always been working for, and the relations of Moslems with others are primarily based on peace and confidence. Islam refuses the killing of people merely because they embrace a different faith, nor does it allow Moslems to fight against those who disagree with them on religious question

I have so many questions for Muslim men. I was told a Muslim man cannot hang out with a girl alone and also not hug her (hug girls in general) i was told because it's temptation leads to temptation and other desires. BUT how come men especially in predominantly Muslim countries hang around men and even hug men? if being homosexual is Haram, and it is forbidden to hug and hang around women (because of temptation) it doesn't make sense then why men are allowed to be alone with each other and even HUG?!?! when there could be temptation! especially in Islam since homosexuality is verry Haram!!!! is a gay man I'm also told it's perfectly fine for me to hang out with men alone and hug them but I'm not allowed to hug and women and hang out with them alone? this doesn't make sense to me. it would be better for me to hug and hang around men then hug and hang around women? and it's not as if I'm the only gay person in the world. there could be gay or even bi-curious men... knowing homosexuality is forbidden it would make more sense for the rules to say men cannot hang out with each other and hug each other men can only hang out and hug women. I just do not understand these rules whatsoever because they don't make logical sense to me.

In all likelihood he was a Zoroastrian who was forced to convert (or die) by Muslim rulers because Persia had been conquered by the Islamic armies and that was what Muslims did (and still do wherever they can). That could easily explain the "pious preface to al-Khwārizmī's Algebra".

Now, we can not say that he is doing 100% of what is necessary to be done. We say his Islam may not be complete; but you cannot say he is other than Muslim. Even if he does whatever he does, he is a Muslim. There are many hadiths on that issue that the Prophet (s) mentioned to us and especially the hadith in which he (s) was telling his uncle, at the time he was dying, saying, " O my uncle, say `la ilaha illa-llah'.
