I am a PlanetSide 2 Degenerate: they're nerfing the MAX so I got a 150 killstreak on MAX

This was before they released any of the actual proposed changes or put them on the test server. This is from LAST last week after someone sent me the screenshot of Wrel saying "big MAX changes incoming" or whatever. I was only half paying attention and this wasn't a super high KMP session or anything, I was just hanging out with some friends and playing PS2 in the background. I muted the audio because of the conversations happening during my gameplay. Enjoy...or don't I guess. Sorry.

The funny thing is, the only real way to get these kindof kill streaks is to play very defensively with the Max which is essentially the opposite of what they were supposed to be. It's just that Maxes die so easy to C4 that no-one actually wants to push with them or be aggressive. I really think the best thing they could have done for Maxes is vastly reduced their damage potential against infantry but at the same time vastly increased their tankiness or other utilities.

If the fights were better and I had an engineer I'd be able to play differently but for most of that I was just randomly running around.

Losing 450 nanites to 75 nanites just doesnt feels so good,and it requires just tooo much of an effort to dodge c4 while actively pushing that most max players play defensive %80 of the time.I am okay with decimator but c4 doesnt even requires any skill to use.A random planetman touches m2 then m1 with his toes and your whole push that you clinged your ass to achieve is gone.

It's not even a nerf to maxes. The reduced nanite cost makes up for the revive removal. Also the headshot thing didn't matter anyway since no one in a max actually tries to go for headshots, especially on NC. If you're skilled enough, then with or without revives, you would still be able to do the exact same thing. It's really only a nerf to people who can't play max in the first place without overextending. But even then, they can easily pull a second one since it's not 450 anymore

These clips are from the day this information came out before anyone was able to go on the test server or any patch notes were released. I haven't played since then, although I did see the actual changes. They weren't available when I logged in two weeks ago.

nc maxes already had 1.5x hs iirc so all the nc weapons got damage nerfs

Deadshot is going to keep being the biggest MAX menace on the server. The nerf only stops MAX crashes from being too oppressive since they can't get revived.

@@bananaboye3759 what a ridiculous thing to say. Your assumption is that if someone purchases something with certs they actually get to enjoy that item. There are many times that I purchase weapons purchase things for construction only to have them nerfed right away. Sometimes they've even given me something in place of the item that I purchased. And it has always been something that I didn't even want!

Yes, this nerf will have a certain impact on the MAX gameplay. Personally, I didn't use Max as a farm machine anyway, but rather as a counter to tactical units/sweaty HA's with a 5 ms ping. So for me, not much will change.

I usually pull MAX for that reason or to shoot at aircraft or vehicles but then inevitably change loadout to anti infantry when they run away and I'm just left in my MAX killing a ton of people.
