Planetside 2 - Life as an infiltrator

Slightly different layout of a video, a kind of experiment! Most of the background music is from Monsters Inc. and some from UP. I stuck several pieces together to create one long track for this. Hope you enjoy :)

​@@deadaces7949 I dont think being abled to camp in some random with a smg or one hit bolt rifle is balanced. I woulnd consider it as annyoing if only new player would use this class cuz they are more likley to miss but since its meta everybody uses it. Every 12-24 pop fights is being dominated by even average skilled person camping. Getting run over by invisilbe quads mid fight or just travelling is frustating as hell cuz u can do shit against them if u dont know there is one coming for u(u can spot them on 5 meter with low grafik settings)

@@basty8343 Have you tried joining them? It's a huge amount of fun playing infiltrator. But I do think you are looking at this the wrong way. There are plenty of 'deterrents' to counter infiltrators. If you were to play infiltrator for a while you would notice, it's not as easy as some people make it out to be. What you don't see in my videos, is the thousand times I died, trying to do what you actually see in my videos. While I do understand your gripe with Infiltrators, I could say the same thing about light assults and their ability to fly, Heavies with their shields and even Max's with their overpowered dual weilding weapons. They are an integral part of the game, and a very different way to play Planetside 2. It's almost peaceful playing infiltrator sometimes! Either way, I know I probably wont change your mind, but I do appreciate the discussion. Quite often this conversation turns nasty with some people! :)

​@@deadaces7949 I agree with this, Infil can be fun and can be countered via good eyesight or flashlights at close range. Personally, I hate Heavy Assaults more as most Heavies just pop their overshield before or mid gunfight and increase their health pool just enough to where you lose by one or two bullets, making them more common for "camping". And the overshield doesn't really have a counter as cloaking does. Plus, unlike the Heavy, the Infils do have 100 less shield health to work with to balance them out, and that lower health usually forces you as an Infil to be creative in how you approach combat. And Heavies are more frequently seen in fights for a reason. In terms of camping, I'd argue the Heavy is better than the Infil here, with the Overshield being the main reason. In a head-to-head engagement between the two classes, the Heavy easily wins, without question. Infils not only have less health to work with but close range LMGs like the Gauss SAW, MSW-R, (IDK too much about Vanu weapons so) Betelgeuse easily beat some of the SMGs on offer like the Jackal, NS-7, Blitz, etc, in an optimal setting. It's more annoying to find an Infil who's camping a building, sure, but once you find him it's usually a straight engagement unless he jumps you. For a Heavy Assault in the same building, it's easier to find him, but once you do it's harder to kill him; his Overshield gives him more effective health, plus if he's smart he has a wider toolkit to deal with you. Planning on pushing him with another? LMGs have higher capacity, they can spray you down even if their aim is mediocre. Fighting as a MAX? He can whip out his rocket launcher to take a good chunk of your health; Infils have to avoid you in comparison. Took out most of their health, but they're still alive? Not only does Heavy have access to Medkits just like the Infil, but his Overshield will also have been charged by the time you get back. In terms of being run over by invis quads midfight, I can sort of sympathize. Unlike other vehicles, you can't really see the invisible Flash coming all the time. However, unlike dying to a Harasser running over you, you can actually shoot the Flash and kill the driver without having to dump multiple mags into it. Sure, with Harassers you can see them coming and get out of the way, but not only does it have more width to hit you, meaning it has more potential to kill more people in one drive-through, but it also gets a speed boost, allowing it to choose its windows of opportunity and dodge AV fire. Meanwhile, the Flash has to take the cloak in this situation, meaning it doesn't have an escape mechanism outside of cloaking again, which, like I've mentioned is counterable with a good eye and flashlights. Plus, if we were talking about a mid-ranged fight scenario, Harassers and Flashes use the same tactics and try to ram you from where you're not looking anyways. I think this is too many words for a YT response so TL;DR: Infils are annoying, sure, but I concur with Dead here that there are way more annoying classes that are much better at camping and winning smaller fights, and it's an interesting take on utilizing cloaks in video games. Other classes are higher in contention for having the potential for ruining the game for people.

@@nofilterneito People get annoyed by infils because the frustration left by getting ambushed by a cloaked soldier is a more annoying than getting wrecked by heavies head-to-head because at least with Heavies, you can think of other ways to fight them, like flanking or using your mobility or maybe if you had better aim. With infils, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth because there are a lot of times where they kill you in ways that you couldn't have countered. It's the same with A2G ESFs picking on infantries. They kill you, then fly away with their victims not being even given a chance for revenge. Personally, I think they're all fine. It's these elements that make the combat asymmetrical and a lot more dynamic. I actually like hunting down infils... it's gotten to the point that I can distinguish the cloaking sounds of each faction. It's still frustrating when there's like an army of infils tho.

I love the times when an infiltrator doesnt realize i have a light on my shotgun...... and that i periodicaly blink it..... they sometimes just sit still....like a deer in the headlights, the better ones uncloak and shoot me, the ones with a bolt rfile usualy kill me, but the ones with knives or pistols? they get a fistfull of buckshot to the head...... runing around the backlines blinking the light like a madman can feel so rewarding when i find one

I've had rage tells like that too. One guy went so far as to look up all my stats and then send message after message telling me how shit I am at the game. I just told him how his outfit mate with the darklight didn't actually try to look for me but just ran away as fast as he could 😆

It does amuse me, the rage tells. Planetside 2 is not a game to rage at. It's simply too much fun and too silly in my eyes. I've never understood why people get so worked up over this game, when you can simply respawn and go and kill the dude who just killed you. Rage tells are pure comedy to me :)

@@Milkmangood58 You know you have different cloak's right? In your suit slot? Stalker cloak (handgun only) only drains when you move. Hunter cloak (Sniper or SMG) drains as soon as you turn it on. And the other one (I can't remember)! Also get yourself the implant 'deep operative'. It makes you 'more' invisible when not moving. Adrenelin pump too, for chasing people around with a knife!

Campers getting outcamped. and then people complain about infiltrator ? you just made a fuckin trash decision by picking an engi or medic on open field, they are not made for open field combat like that unlike sniper/scout rifle. If you complain about infiltrator, let's make it fair and remove the heavy so we only have LA, medic, engi in the game.
